a bit of a loose knee??????opinions, please  I contacted a breeder on a female yorkie-she told me she she had a pup who"had a bit of a bad knee" I am so glad she was upfront and honest with me! I am waiting for more info- Wanted what grade, and more info! I know this can be a Big $$$$ thing if a high grade- 3 to 4, but if it is a 1 or 2?? What do you think? |
A grade one I would take a chance on...two I might be iffy. From what the vet told me when he examined lulu's knees he said that most of them tend to have a one. |
If it's a young puppy, I'd be wary too. The puppy will still be growing and developing and the knees could get worse. I think it's wonderful the breeder is being so honest though  I'd definitely find out more info and have the puppy checked by a vet |
Thanks- I think my sister's poodle had this , too- only bothered him every once in a while- she but him on that med for joints when he got older and she said she thought it helped a lot! thanks |

I am just going to have to talk to her some more! This is probably is not the pup for me- I'd have a hard time finding a vet to handle something like that here- I can't even find good dog food- LOL She is a cutie though- and then you think of someone getting her that wont take care of her-even with no problems- ug- no- think other thoughts! |
yes, I have been to this breeder home, she had no yorkies then, but the most darling toy poodles- she had them in her nice clean house, bathing and grooming, and they were dolls! Happy and healthy-I still regret not getting that red male poodle- if it had been a female- I have it now! And still would be looking for a female YORKIE- lol Yes, and I am very pleased that she told me about this up front! That just gives her another point in my book! |
My vet said the earlier and the more severe they exhibit symptoms, the poorer the prognosis. If it were me, I think I would demand the breeder have the knees x-rayed at the breeder's expense. Talk to your vet and go from there. This is really hard to breed out of a line. It is very nice that the breeder was up front with you. However, you won't be able to get insurance to cover any related expenses because it will be determined a pre-existing condition. |
She got back to me( I've been ot of town) She said it is a 2 1/2 to 3 in one back leg! I don't think , I will risk it! |
