chanels has dragon breath and some weird molar problem! Chanel has really bad breath. It smelled it more when she wakes up but now her breath always smells bad.I felt a bump on the right side of her jaw.To be more specific I could feel it right underneath her ear.I opened the side of her mouth and i see some big molars there.I noticed that the gums where the molars are, are kind of not at the same level as the other gums and protrude a little more than her normal gum line.god i wish I could take a pic but I cannot find my cam.She also has double fangs.lol.shes got some baby teeth that still havent come out.Can you guys look at your yorkies mouth and pick up their gums from the side.Look at the back molar.Does the gums come all the way back and join the molar or does it do a weird outward curve. Its almost like they are split.I have heard that yorkies are prone to having teeth problems.I hope this is not the case.thanx |
My Meka's not with me right now, or I would look for ya'. Do you brush your furbabies teeth? Have you taken her to the vet for a tooth exam? That would probably be my next steps, if its something thats been concerning you... :) |
first - you have great taste in NAMES :D but about your puppy's breath - When her baby teeth fall out - her breath will be back to normal and if they don't fall out on their own - you'll have to call your vet - Many yorkies end up getting teeth pulled. My Chanel had perfect teeth and hers fell out on their own and little Cheri had to have 4 pulled - |
I'd go have her checked. |
I agree with Vee when they are teething it smells like something died. A good precautionary measure is to get her used to brushing them. |

Sadly it can take up to a year and a half it seems for them to drop teeth. I would suggest in the meantime no wet foods because that gets caught. Try to brush those teeth and give lots of hard chewies so that they teeth can be cleaned naturally and it will acutally aid in the teeth dropping. |
