Rocky had his teeth pulled!! 1 Attachment(s) Last friday I took Rocky to a vet to have his back teeth pulled. They were very loose and I could move them with no effort, but they would not fall out by themselves. Well, Rocky went crazy when the vet tried to grab the tooth with his tools. We tried a few times and he just screamed like a little girl, his tongue turned blue and thats when the vet said that we have to sedate him. I'm like "SEDATE??? What do you mean??????" He said it was the only way, and he would pull the top front teeth that were solid as a rock. Needless to say, I was not happy with leaving Rocky at the clinic for an hour. But I did, knowing that its the right thing to do for the monkey. So in Rocky went, and off I went to a bar for a drink. I explained to the vet that if something bad was to happen to Rocky, he would pay with his own skin. He said that it will all be fine and we parted ways for 60 minutes. I was back in 45, and rocky came out 30 minutes later. They told me that he might be sleepy and sedated, and wooooozy and not to feed him, but when Rocky came out he was on fire, happy as hell, all sweet and speedy as always. I was really glad. He looks to be much happier now. He doesnt tilt his head anymore when he chews his food. So $120 later, we are all happy. |
glad rocky is ok now The vet was gonna pull his teeth without sedation?? i think i would have been more upset with this then actually sedating him. what if he tried to pull the tooth and it broke? then he'd have an even worse problem to contend with |
Murfee needs to have a tooth pulled and I am so scared to make the appointment:eek: |

I'm glad to hear Rocky is feeling better and able to chew with the tooth getting taken out. :animal36 |
Poor Rocky!! He must have been so scared! I have never ever ever heard of a vet that would attempt to remove a tooth without sedation. Ever:confused:  Anyone else? I'm glad he's okay now:thumbup:  I'm with him, I hate dental work too:laugh: |
Aww poor Rocky. I bet he is feeling better now and glad to be rid of his loose teeth. Both of my guys' baby teeth fell out without a problem, but I was so worried they wouldn't. Sorry you had to go through this. |
Awww.....I'm glad it all worked out just fine! I'd have been at the bar having a drink too! |
Oh I'm so glad Rocky was fine!!! One of my little guy's has a retained tooth as well. I am having an anxiety attack about it! Its so scary to sedate them for anything! Thanks for sharing !! |
