Very Bad Breath Bentley is 5 months and well on his way to losing his teeth....does anyone know if it is normal for them to have really really bad breath during this time. It is quite a fishy smell and nearly knocks you over, lol |
Does he have double teeth? Teddi did and her breath was horrible but once we got the doubles pulled her breath is great now. |
bella did... now its all gone;) |
bad breath Yorkies are notorious for bad teeth. I only feed my Bijou dry food and I brush her teeth every night. Yes, I said every night! :D She is used to it because we have done it so long. After I brush mine I hop in the bed and brush hers. I also give her teeth cleaning treats from time to time but there's no substitute for brushing. Imagine if we didn't brush our teeth every day. Yuk. Anyway, it only takes 5 min max and it makes a huge difference in your babies health. And they have good breath! |
Horribly Bad Breath...Improving Johnny also had horrid breath and since losing most of his double teeth, it's getting better. There are just a few double molars left. I thought it might be the pieces of liverwurst I was feeding him after doing both pee and poop outside during our first morning outing but after reading this post, those double teeth may have been a contributing factor. :aimeeyork p.s. no more liverwurst for now |
Chloe is 5 months old too. Just Saturday she developed a a bad fishy breath. I've decided that it's either the teething or the fish oils in her food. She has already lost most of her front teeth up to the fangs (incisors?), and I have heard that the "fangs" are the teeth that get stuck and can be pulled out during the spay process. Glad to hear I'm not alone. |
It is normal. The only time my Chloe had bad breath was when she was losing teeth and getting new ones. Her breath is pretty decent now. |
They can have really stinky breath. You really have to keep up with the brushing. It also could be teething problems. |
It is normal. Try brushing every day or night and I also tried the spray once in a while and Koda's breath it's really fresh & clean!!! Think about it!! We need our dose of Scope & Breath mints!!!:D :D :D |
LilyGrace gets bad breath sometimes too...I use the PetzLife spray and gel and it seems to do the trick!!! |
I was wondering what that hideous smell was!?! Lola is a little over six months and never had breath problems until this week and boy is it bad! I actually went and bought some products that are supposed to help...glad to hear it's normal and that I can start giving her kisses again one day! |
Bad Breath Mania Snorky's breath is suddenly so bad! We got most of his double teeth pulled when he was neutered, but some of the molars are still falling out. He is 11 mo. A couple of molars in the back are really loose and I know are contributing to his stinky breath. The vet says to let them fall out on their own.. any advice to get them out sooner? |
I have noticed Pixie's breath is smellier now...she has double rows of teeth (she's 6 months old) i'm holding out till she's about a year old to see if they will come out naturally, she's a little under 2.5lbs and i'm terrified of putting her under an anaesthetic:( |
When is it a good time to start brushing their teeth? I told my vet I wanted to brush my pup\'s teeth and she told me to wait until he had his adult teeth. |
I think you should start right away. That way when she gets her adult teeth she will by used to the routine and compliant. When I first started, I would put doggie toothpast on a tiny toothbrush and let Bijou lick it and chew on it. She liked the taste of the toothpaste so she looked forward to it each time. I slowly began to control the situation by manipulating the toothbrush against her teeth. At first I didn\'t get really serious about getting every tooth surface, but concentrated on getting her used to the brush. Now I can take my time and get her teeth really clean because she thinks nothing of it. It takes hardly any time and she has nice breath and nice fresh doggie kisses.:aimeeyork |
