OK I'm pretty sure all this is my fault...First I got water into Furgies ears a few weeks back...I wasn't prepared for how much she would squirm on her first bath. So last week she had a bit of stinky ears well then I bought an ear cleaner and it came with earmit remover too. Uggg today her ears smell musty and old anyone smelt this before? What to do?....

When you clean them out, what color is it?

Don't be so hard on yourself. I get water in Ellie's ears all the time. Have you tried stuffing cotton balls in them?

Ellie May I didn't get anything out...I turned her head but nothing came back...out

:) No, I wasn't talking about the water or cleaner. I meant if you put a cotton ball or something in her ear, are you pulling out anything (like brown or black colored goop)? Sometimes when you get water in the ears it can lead to a yeast infection and you would pull brown goop out. It smells funny too. If you aren't pulling anything black or brown out I don't know what it could be.

I don't know what it could be, but if it doesn't get any better you may want to call the vet before it gets worse.

Here is the product and here are the directions. Ummm this is way more than what was on the box...

To control ear ticks and ear mites, apply 10 drops to each ear so that it can penetrate wax down to surrounding tissues. Repeat treatment once or twice at 2-3 day intervals.

EAR MITES: These are small parasites which crawl in the ear canal of dogs and cats. They chew on the ear and cause scratching, head shaking, pain and infection. A crusty brownish-black material will occur in the ear when mites are present.

I wiped her ear with a QTip a bit ago and it was clean as a whistle!!
