Nylabone Healthy Edibles? My mom gave Maddie and Sophie each a Bacon flavored Nylabone Healthy Edible today...are those ok for them to have? |
I think they're ok as long as you don't over do it. |
It is rawhide, so if it can be swallowed (I'm guessing because of the name) I wouldn't give them. |

Apparently so. I didn't know either but I just looked at the ingredients for the bacon flavor: Ingredients Sterilized rawhide, wheat starch, natural bacon flavor & natural flavor. |
Buddy had a very bad experience with the original Nylabones. I would never purchase anything regarding Nylabones. If it's not natural I do not buy it. It just is not worth the risk. IMO |
I had a thread about this a couple months ago. Sarge does well with them, and they are really fine rawhide, it frays instead of breaking off into pieces. Regular nylabones are BAD they are plastic and can cut up the digestive tract, only give the all natural healthy edibles from this brand. I should also tell you that Sarge chews them and it takes him a day or two to finsh one off. If your dogs devour them in an hour, it might not be a good idea.Hope this helps! |
P.S. Regular nylabones are not rawhide, they're plastic garbage. Sorry if that offends anyone. The concern with rawhide is that it swells in the stomach, but as I said the rawhide is finely cut up and the bone frays instead of breaking off in pieces. |
Thanks guys...it takes them a day or so to get to the end of one...then I take it away...I do the same with bully sticks...so they don't swallow the end. They seem to like them. They used to have the plastic ones...but I don't buy them anymore. Their favorite thing of the moment is the everlasting treat ball!! |
