Question About Mosquitoes in Alaska My husband and I are taking a trip by motorhome to Alaska this summer and will be there during the months of June, July and August. We have heard many stories about the SIGNIFICANT mosquito problems all over Alaska, particularly in the interior. Does anyone have any experience with this and if the information we have is true, do you know what can be done to protect our 4 1/2 pound Yorkie from getting so many bites while we are there? |
My boyfriend swears by thermacell. It is a butane powered repellent device and I have seen it work! I know he got his online, but I have also seen them at bass proshop outdoor world. |
Hey Karen, I have only heard the stories so don't have any first hand advice but wanted to welcome you to yt. Have a fun trip. |
We lived in Alaska and didn't have to much of a problem but when camping (RVing) they were terrible and we would just retreat to the inside during sunset, that's when they are the worst. We never really used anything except for those coils that you burn and for us sometimes we would use 100% deit (ooops, I don't remember how to spell it! ) |
Forgot to say... We made that drive twice and loved it so much. The most beautiful drive you can make...Keep your camera ready all the time! |
