food problem with my puppy!! Well I have now had my puppy for two weeks. We can't figure out how much to feed her and what to feed her. The vet said 1/2 a cup of dry food in the morning and half in the evening. That would work if she liked dry food. She only eats moist canned food. The problem is some cans are 3 ounces some are 10. Sizes all vary! We have no idea how much of each to give her, how to tell, and what canned food is good. She loves Cesars puppy chow, but I heard it isn't the best food. We switched to Eukanuba and she doesn't like it as much. Today we tried Iams. We can't figure out what food to feed her and how much. Can someone please help!! I think she is putting on too much weight b/c we are just feeding her until she seems satiated. I'd really appreciate everyones help----our experimenting with foods is hurting my baby's stomach! thanks everyone |

It is possible that your puppy doesnīt like Eukanuba after Ceasar because Ceasar smells much moe better. They put somethings into their food that crates this effect. Eukanuba is a good food, but it is very expensive, in my opinion too expensive for the ingredients. Good sorts would be Canidae, Timberwolf, Innova, cd-vet, UniQ. You have to look which sort your puppy likes. Donīt give her food untill she is satisfied. Usually there is a something written on the packet, how much food your baby should get, and at what age and weight. You should everytime be able to feel the ripps of your baby, otherwise it is too big. |

I have no idea if it was supposed to be this way because we got bandit from a pet store but.... i heard that while they're young you soak their food in hot water for 5 minutes. it might be too hard for her. our new puppy tucker doesn't have that problem he eats the regular dry food! good luck and welome! |

I am in the same boat with you! I was feeding him with the dry kibble that the breeder was initially feeding him and I mixed that with Pedigree for puppies beef with cheese, he eat that for 1 week, then he didn't like that anymore, so I used varities of the Pedigree, but he didn't eat it as much as the beef with cheese, then I used Ceasars, which he really doesn't like, but then I noticed he didn't like the dry kibble, so I switch it ekunuba, he ate that for 1 plate, then he didn't like it anymore! I do not know what to do anymore! hahahaha, I'm as confused as him now! |

Natural Balance Ultra? I have had my puppy for 4 days. She doesn't really ever eat on her own. Her breeder had to syringe and hand feed her and now I am trying to get her to eat out of a bowl. Food does not interest her. My refrigerator is full of 10 kinds of dog food (and baby food, and cooked chicken, cottage cheese etc.) We don't have any human food (poor family) but there isn't room for it anyway. Well, this morning I stopped by Petco and bought 3 types I haven't tried. One is the Natural Balance...that meat roll thing. She likes it! I am shocked but it doesn't seem like "dog food" more like pepperoni that people eat. Is this stuff really okay for her? I saw "Natural Balance" on the list of good stuff. Is that possible? They make can food too right? If it is horrible for her, lie to me. J/K But is it more horrible than her other favorite...junior chicken sticks? (they come in a jar for toddlers) I have 6 different dry foods too. Won't eat any but she likes playing with them. Going to try that soaking trick I read a few posts back. Thanks |

I'm definately going to go and buy Natural Balance. Can I find it at a store like PetSmart? The label will tell me how much to give her right? She is only 3lbs. Thanks so much for your help! I really appreciate it. I just hope Princess likes this food. |

I keep food down at all times. |

Not at Petsmart They do not carry the Natural Balance at Petsmart, they do have another roll food that is very similar (I think that it is called Botanicals something or other, lamb and Browned rice is good). I like the NB best (Petco) and what I do (two picky eaters) is to fill the bowl with the Eukanaba dry lamb and rice about 2/3 ful, slice and dice the roll, mix it in and then heat just a little bit in the microwave. They love it. Don't even cook microwve (or cook at all for that matter) for me, but do for the babies. Also you can slice and dice the NB roll and use for treats. Good luck |

Brenda (luvmypupster) recommended Natural Balance and I have just recently switched Tino & Bunny over from the Eukaneuba to the Organic Natural Balance. I am soooo happy I found this! Here is their website. You can read all about it and I think there is even a feature that allows you to search for a store near you that carries it! Good luck! www.naturalbalanceinc.com/ |

I am soooo excited. My 2 lb. puppy is EATING. Natural Balance roll is the trick...i mixed it with dry kibble (which i crunched up a little) and she chowed it down. I am so glad to hear this is good for her. I was happy just knowing she wasn't going to starve, but this is GREAT news. thank you YT. |
