Greenies: Please Read I was doing a bit of research on Greenies and the new formula. I will say right out that they aren't allowed here anymore and never will be, so nobody has to convince me not to feed them.:) I was looking at their website and under their FAQ section this appears: * My dog is less than 6 months old and/or less than 5 pounds, can I give him Greenies®? * We do not recommend Greenies® for dogs less than 5 pounds and/or less than 6 months of age because they do not have adequate chewing abilities. We recommend Greenies® SmartBiscuit™ for these pets. See your local retailer or ask us for a sample. http://www.greenies.com/en_US/faq.asp#19 All right then, does that mean that since Ellie isn't six pounds she doesn't know how to chew? Give me a break. Maybe they are just too dangerous for small dogs???:thumbdown |
I have started giving my furbaby greenies again since they got the new formula. She has never had a problem with them what so ever even when they were the old version. She prefers greenies over all her other treats and does very well with them. I don't know why they say that they are not good for dogs under 5 lbs. Maybe their market is for a little bit bigger of a dog and if they make anything smaller it could be a choking hazard? I don't know just shooting in the dark there. If there is something I miss please enlighten me and let me know why everyone thinks these are still so bad for dogs. I hope that this comment did not sound mad or angry in any way. I am just here to learn what is best for my little one. Thanks, Sharon |
