Can anyone advise me please? Hi there My little girl loves milk and I have been giving her a couple of tablespoons a day. I wondered if she could have oatmeal porridge and milk for breakfast, as she goes crazy when she sees us having it at breakfast time? Is Goats' milk better for her? Many thanks Franceen |
Anyone? Franceen |
As long as the regular milk doesnt give her runny stools I think it is fine. Goats milk is better |
Sorry no help here, I have never gave my babies milk before, hopefully someone will help soon;) |
Generally they can't digest the lactose in the milk so you might want to skip that. Oatmeal is fine. Maybe try yogurt or cottage cheese instead? |
My guy loves milk as well and always finishes the last bits in my glass.;) I share small bits of my morning oatmeal(porridge) with him too. Cheers!~ |
Thank you SO much for all these replies. I gave her a quarter of a cup to drink last night and she has had a normal stool this morning. I will try the oatmeal tomorrow and see if her digestion copes with this. She is just crazy about milk. I know that you can get an enzyme tablet for people who cannot digest lactose in milk, and I wondered if I should put some of that in her milk as a precaution? Or, will she always react to the milk if she is lactose intolerant? Thanks again, everyone. Love Franceen |

Our family uses only lactose free milk. I give the dogs a little here and there, but mainly I give them goat milk once in awhile. Animals do really love animal protein and it's good for them, but I'm not sure if having it every day would be ok or not. Not a thing wrong with oatmeal. I cook steel cut oatmean and then lightly steam broccoli, chop fine and add it to the oatmeal and keep in the ref. and add a little to their home cooked meals. |
Thank you all for the advice. I will see if my local supermarket sells lactose free milk. She had oatmeal today and loved it. But, today she had a slightly slimy green poo. (sorry to be so graphic) I did give her broccoli last night for the first time as well, so could it just be that which caused it. Otherwise she seems very well and normal. Love Franceen |
