Spayed at what age? Pixie is quickly coming up on her 6 month birthday so I'm thinking about when I should have her spayed. The vets keep telling me to wait until all of her teeth have come in in case she needs to have them pulled and while I understand that I don't want her to come into heat while I'm waiting for this to happen. So the question is: What age did everyone have their girls spayed at? |
Bella was spayed at 6 months. Like you, I wanted to have her spayed before her first heat. |
I waited til 8 months so that I could have her teeth pulled at the same time... She didn't go into heat before then |

Roxy was 7 months on 6/24, the Vet told me another week (or 2) and then I should bring her in. She is 3lbs and very petite that's why he said to wait. She will probably need some teeth pulled as well. I am soooooooooooooooo not looking forward to it! Then TJ (he will be 5 months on 6/30) will have to have his turn soon as well. Any preparation advice? |
I didn't vote b/c I have a boy - but he was neutered at 6 months and a week. He came thru like a champ and the vet said he was one of the smoothest operations he had in weeks! And Sully has been great since, no problems at all! :) |
Lucy was spayed at about 7 months, it was this long as the vet told us to have it done after her first heat |
