Frosty Paws? I went to my local grocery store and got some of the Frosty Paws ice cream. I haven't given it to Aub and Kota because its made by Purina.?? Is this stuff good for them? |
Could ice cream, even the 'doggy' ones ever be good for dogs? Its not even really good for us lol. I guess the answer would be no it probably isn't good for them, but, I doubt a small amount will harm them. Its up to you. |
Jaxon won't eat it! I think he is spoiled by Human Ice Cream!!!!:p |
I just leary bc its made by purina. I went ahead about bought it it was only $3 I could throw it away, I just wanted to check and see what everyone said. |
I think a lot of people on here have given Frosty Paws to their Yorkies. Just like other treats, it's ok in moderation...I didn't realize that it was made by Purina, though  |
I looked at the ingredietns the other day. It has BHA in it which is so bad. Some dog food companies (and people food companies) use it though. It also has an unnamed animal product in it. It just says animal fat. That could be beef fat or chicken fat. That would be fine. How do you know it isn't lizard fat or squirrel fat though?;) My mind runs a mile a minute. |
I think its going in the.... trash. Sorry I am picky now with the foods they get. |
We gave them as treats this summer and only bought the 1 box my dogs turned into crazy monsters because it was sooo good. I thought they would kill each other and me for that matter!! lol Grayson and Abby loved them but I didn't like them so much while they ate. They did make the cutest noises I guess it's our version of mmmmmm |

Benji and Bella got a few over summer and they loved it. I only have them like 1/4 at a time thought. They started to go crazy every time I would open my freezer. |
Can I just give them a little bit of regular ice cream or is that bad? |
I got those before but I give them just a tiny bit. on a cup, I normally end up serving it 3 times shared between the 2 |
I give it to mine. I dont see how its much worse than giving them yoqurt |
Definately:) Ellie gets people ice cream quite often. She licks out the carton when it's not chocolate. It depends on how much your dog's stomachs can handle (because of the dairy). |
One of the food gurus on another forum that i frequent, said its really not good for them. She suggest taking some plain yougurt and freezing it and they will like that just as well. |
I might just give them some ppl ice cream tonight. I don't trust those frosty paws since they are made by purina. |

And about Purina, it's not a good brand in general. Their dog food has a lot of fillers, and because yorkies are small and don't eat a lot, they need to get a better, more natural and nutricious kibble. |
I'll just say it how it is. Purina products are garbage. There food has byproducts (which is okay if they mean organ meat...gross if they mean blood and intestines). They don't like naming their animal products (they say animal fat and don't tell you what animal they got it from). I am pretty sure they use preservatives lik ethoxyquin which is very controversial. I think it's quite dangerous. Their food is also full of fillers with little nutritional value. |
Bruce has had these a couple of times, but NO MORE...Last time I gave it to him he would barely eat it, and the small amount he did eat gave him loose stools...Not reccomended for those with sensitive stomachs... |
I gave mine some regular ice cream last night and they just loved it! |
