Lexy's teeth Little Lexy's teeth are coming in very straight and she is not retaining her baby teeth! I can't believe it! My question is, should I ask the vet about removing a tooth or two since her mouth is so tiny, or just leave it alone? I've heard the tinies can get bad bites if they have too many teeth. |
When my Katie was 6 months old, the vet spayed her and removed her excess baby teeth (a total 9 teeth!). Because Katie is only 2.6 lbs full grown, she has an extremely small jaw. The vet wanted to removed her baby teeth early so that there would be no problems w/ infections or anything else from having too many teeth. I recommend going to your vet and getting his opinion. Is your dog syaped/neutered yet? How old is your baby? |
Have Lexy's canine teeth come in yet? Those are the ones that tend not to fall as easily. |
The canines are in, but the tooth behind the canines is only about 1/3 of the way in. So far everything looks straight. She isn't spayed yet. I was waiting on her teeth so we could get baby teeth removed at the same time. Looks like she won't have to have that though. I worry about spaying her because she is so little. She is 2 1/2 lbs. and will be 6 months old July 3. I guess it is time now though. |
