I have Bella (9 month old Yorkie) and Plato (6 yr. old beagle mix) and I feed them at the same but Plato's food is elevated to a level that is too high for Bella to reach and low enough for Plato to reach. So they eat at the same time but only eat their own food. Bella still ALWAYS tries for Plato's food though!

I THINK that if they are eating adult dog food they should be getting a vitamin supplement...my breeder was feeding them health extension which is EXTREMELY hard to get over here but is made by the makers of solid gold I believe..it is all natural but the kicker is that you have to buy the vitamins to supplement it (which I bought..not knowing), as well as a skin and coat conditoner that goes in there food and something else that I can't remember..lol..and was told I don't need because Maximus gets all that in PUPPY food...I don't know how true/ or false this is ..just sharing what I heard!!

Thats funny that you mention that. Penny(our boxer) has her food elevated a foot off the floor in a food tray/table so she doesnt hurt her joints bending down to eat. My tiny yorkie still insists on standing on her back legs and getting food out of her bowl. And my little yorkie's food is in a tiny bowl hidden underneath the boxer's food tray/table so that she(boxer) can not get to it easily and it still happens!! I am telling you, there is no more fighting to get her to eat puppy food. I lost that battle :p . The funny thing and this is what I was afraid of, is that I am hearing info supporting both sides from ya'll: That it is okay and not okay to eat adult food. Dont getme wrong I am so glad you guys responded :) . I had a feeling there wouldnt be a completely 100% right or wrong answer to my question. So I have decided I think I am going to get some sort of vitamin. Any suggestions for puppy vitamins?

I give health extension vitamins..roast beef and liver flavor 1/2 daily...he loves them..they are made by health extension
