Question about coat 2 Attachment(s) my little one, Teddy, seems to be going though a bad stage. His hair is really thinning out and he seems that his skin is very sesitive. When I brush him he is in pain and cries out. The vet says it is stress. He was sold to someone else at 8 weeks old and just 1#. My vet says that's the cause and he will get better, but it will take time. I have had him since he was 10 weeks old. and he's had nothing to be stressed about here. he is spoiled rotten. I am feeding Pro Pac Puppy right now. He was on Nutro but one of my others didn't do well on it so I switched everyone. It's easier. Has anyone had this problem? Know what I can do? I use conditioning spray on him also. I posted a picture of him before and after losing hair. (pictures are backwards: First pic is NOW 2nd Pic before hair lost in August -he was only 1/5 months old) PLEASE HELP |
Forgot to add any suggustion will be welcomed. Thank you all. |
I can see what you mean in the pic. I agree about just giving him some time and he may improve. Good luck. BTW he is adorable:D |
Maybe you need to change his diet.... and also ask the vet to check for Thyroid issues. Sometimes they loose their hair with thyrod issues! |

have vet send blood to dr dodd's to do T3, T4, T3 FREE AND T4 FREE AND T3AA AND T4AA- do this first as it is a simple blood test and you will have a baseline as if allergies you will go through a lot of money and stress and this is an easy fix. i just finally went to see the expert dr. dodds on this as dd is on atopica, temaril p and still no hair growth on neck since january |
1 Attachment(s) this looks like dd and i would not put any conditioner on skin - is he itchy? you need to rule out thyroid as dd has a thin coat too - have vet do dr. dodds panel dd hair looks like yours before all the probs. is he on meds? steroids can cause hair loss as well here is a before pic of dd |

But he doesn't seem to itch...just really sesitive when he's brushed. No redness and no sores. no flaking and no pink spots. |
