health insurence whats the lowest and best pet insurance . any opinions? |
I looked at several companies online and $20ish a month was the cheapest (don't rem the company) but after reading more about it..it didn't really pay much for anything. Prices went all the way up to $50 a month. Be careful to read all the fine print when looking at plans tho. Most (all that I saw actually) won't pay for genetic defects like Tracheal collapse and stuff like that. Dental cleaning usually isn't payed for either. I decided to forgo the insurance and just put money each month into a special account just for her. |

One could even take it a step further and have your employer do auto-deductions that deposit into a certain account just for the furbutts! Love it. |
The main problem that I have with pet insurance is this: YOU have to pay the bill first, then fill out forms and PRAY that you get reimbursed. It's certainly not going to help in an emergency situation, as you still have to have the money up front to pay for care. THEN they'll do all they can to DENY your claim. The account is a much better idea, IMHO;) |

I just started Lucy's "vet" fund and once I have a certain amount in there I'm going to cancel the insurance since I have to pay in advance anyway. JMO |
