Fussy Eater Hi, I am new to the forum. I was searching online for information on feeding Yorkies and came across your forum. My little bundle of fluff is 6 months old and has always been a fussy eater. In South Africa we don't have the same food options available to us as you do in the States. Tinks is currently being fed Eukanubu (spelling) dietry puppy food, and tinned food. We were feeding her boiled chicken but then she doesn't eat the Pellets (kibble) I see a few of you make a "home cooked" food for your animals, what could you suggest. Appreciate any help, getting Tinks to eat is a constant battle. Joanne |
Welcome to YorkieTalk:) I would say if you don't have too many good options there I would home cook. There are recipes on here but please don't forget to supplement. It is very important. I think you will just have to keep switching things up and see what she likes. Sometimes people will just leave the kibble down for three or four days and the dog will eventually eat since they won't starve themselves. I couldn't do that though, so I would find something that she likes. |
..welcome..........your little Tink is a cutie!!!!!!!.........and very smart too....she's letting you know she wants to have food that she was made to have and that she enjoys.........my millee was the same way......the vet had her on Eukanuba but she would not eat it .........when I asked one of the assistants what I should do she told me "don't worry when she's hungry enough she'll eat it"...........that stayed on my mind ....I thought why should I enjoy my meals while my little furr kid doesn't enjoy hers.........months later I discovered the raw diet and she been enjoying fabulous food now for years.......check out the raw diet.........there are several threads on it...... |
