Izzy sheds too. Its not a lot but I notice it on my clothes sometimes and on the furniture. Im feeding him Canidae, Merricks and Wellness (I rotate every 3-4 months) Maybe I should try another food for him what do you think? He's been like this since Ive had him and he is a year old. |
1 Attachment(s) my dd tested post bile acid 73.1, 54.9 and now 27 so liver mvd can cause itchy skin but not hair loss. I just had dr. Jean dodds do complete thyroid panel as she is the expert and she is out of garden grove, ca and dd has hypothyroidism and that is why hair on her neck has not grown back and she has a thin coat. see pic she will be going on 1/3 soloxin .1mg 2 times a day and she weighs 5.9 and hair should grow back and it should calm the itching. It took from 6 mos of age and she is now 3 years old to finally get this diagnosis so i recommend a complete T3, T4, T4FREE, T3FREE, T3AA, T4AA done with annual blood work. This has been very costly to diagnose and stressful as we have spent 5k in vet bills with dermatologists etc so i finally went to dr. dodds and hopefully she will get better. Also, dr. dodd's has a liver cleansing diet dd will be going on as well for liver and hypoT and should help with allergies as well Debbie W |
Mojo only sheds (sheds, meaning a few years) when he needs to be brushed or when the air is dry. BUT we changed foods (have been on Canidea for a while now) and using Missing Link. His hair has improved 100%. He gets brushed every day (EVERY DAY..and not just once either...I brush him often). He and Lily both are getting longer hair, so it has to be brushed often. I use SheaPet and their extra conditioning (fur butter fur worse) and love it. Some have raved about Aussie 3min Miracle conditioner (in the purple packets)...I have never tried it. Good luck! |
