This pup is pup...lots of changes go on in their first few months of life. I know that people put a great deal of worth into coat...I'd be more concerned, with health, structure and temperament. |

Yes I know. If you read my post on the puppy nursery you wil lsee I forused on health rather than coat and color. just that I read how difficult the soft coats are and I asked this question. I was unaware that there were two types hence this question:D |

I have a soft coated girl....healthy as all get out....yes, soft coats take more maintenance....however, a long coat can be maintained..kept her that way until she was 5...then decided, to make her life and my life easier....decided to cut her down.....once I did that she reverted into a puppy again.....she loves it..... |

Well I guess as a first time to be Yorkie owner, I will have to try the long and see how that goes, I wont go long to the ground tho but medium enough. I have another high maintenance puppy at the moment and I have to groom him daily or he looks ratty:D . Hell to brush his teeth, but combing and slickering him he loves. Eyes and ears no problem, butt also, but teeth is like really pully teeth:D . I hope this new puppy does not give me trouble as he is coming to me much later than the one I have now:D |
Scooby - just an observation, youve posted your new little one is only 3.8months old, sure is a lot of coat and tail feather for a 3.8 month old puppy...Im thinking he may be a modified silk because of the amount of coat at such a young age. This little one may never clear to his blue and remain black. He is adorable though, congrats and good luck with him:) |
hey Kimberly!:) What a modified silk looks like? can you give me any pointers to where to look, to decide what kind of coat does my puppy have? or further reading? Here you can see a picture that I took today just after brushing her, she's 4 months old http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99150 regards! Ana |
He looks like he might have a soft coat and might possibly stay black or go to a dark gray. |
