CC brushes, I know...again. I know this topic has come up 3 million time already but I can't find the answer to my specific question. I called Chris Christensen customer service and while they were very nice, still didn't really answer my question. So here it is: I am growing Sugar's coat out and I'm trying to figure out which Chris Christensen brush would be best for us. He has a very thick soft coat and he is 3 pounds. His coat is short right now but the brush needs to work on him once his hair has grown. I think the 20mm is what I want based on past posts here and from talking to CS. I think I have ruled out the fusion because Sugar's hair does tend to break and the website says the gold is better for fragile hair. Also, living in Florida, we have very little static problems- too much humidity for that. So I'm trying to decide do I want the 20mm gold, the 20mm little wonder or the 20 mm pocket/toy. I know the gold series is better quality than the original but they don't make it in a small size and I wonder if it would be too big for Sugar. Gracie and Spike are staying in puppy cuts so I'm sure they will be fine with whatever I end up getting. Okay any and all comments welcome! TIA!:) |
I just use a regular brush or a wide toothed comb, so I don't think I can help, but I'm sure someone will. |
I use the 20mm gold, it's really not that big. Zoe is 5lbs, and wears a puppy cut year round. I like it but if I were to get another brush, I'd go for the fushion for the static control. We've had ours for a year now and it's still good |
I have the regular cc in the very tiny size (they advertise it for the show ring) and I don't like it as well as the pocket size fusion. There just aren't as many pins on the head to go through the hair for regular brushing on the tiny one. I'm sure it would be good for the show ring but for regular maintenance I don't feel like it is good enough. Hope that helps. |
Thanks y'all! I think I'll go with the 20mm gold. |
I use the gold as well and really like it. |
I love the 20mm gold. It is a bit big for Pixie but she has such a silky coat I just use the cc butter comb on her |
We have the fusion brush 27. It works very well on Shelby & Seymour. They have long coats. We also use the butter comb that have teeth that are over an inch wide ( it also is CC, but I don't remember the #) |
I have both the Gold brush and the pocket size Fusion brush for Lady. The Gold brush is a much better brush, but I'm afraid it would be too big for your little guy if he's only three pounds. Lady is close to eight and the Gold brush is too big for her. I use the Fusion brush all the time now. I can't figure out why Chris Christensen doesn't come out with the Gold Series brush in a pocket size. I'm sure it would be a big seller. BTW, the Buttercombs are a must have! They are the most fabulous combs you'll ever buy and worth every penny IMO! |
I just received my buttercomb rattail and I love it - it's perfect for doing top-knots and perfect for combing after I use the CC brush. It was worth every penny. |
Hey Nikki....not sure if you got your brush yet or not but I have the 20mm Oblong Brush and we like it alot. I also have another one of the buttercombs. I think the brush I have is the same one you may get but not the gold series. If you have not bought yet you are more than welcome to try ours out first. That just means a play date - ha, ha!! :) We have had it since I got Murphy and I use it every day and love it. |

SO - if I understand what you're saying: the bottom line is, the Gold line is a better brush overall - but they don't make it in Toy/Pocket size. The Fusion line is good, but you're using it mostly bc it comes in Toy/Pocket size. Do I have it right? Marcel is only 2.13 pounds (maybe pushin' 3 pounds!) - so size should def. be an issue for me right? So, would my first priority in buying one be SIZE first, then material? So, I'd kinda be forced into the Fusion Pocket size? Why would CC not make the Gold in pocket size? These are pricey, so please help me determine which one would be best....thank you!!! :D |
Mabe if we all wrote and complained ???? |
