getting a new puppy ! Hi there, I am so excited because my husband found a guy who have a yorkie for sale in $600, so we went this evening to see the puppy he is 4 months, but he is a cutie, he told us the puppy belongs to his daughter but she start college and he already have 2 dogs so he can afford another one so he needs to sell him so we make a deal with him and we are going to get him tomorrow, we are so lucky, he have his papers and vet record. He is so friendly and playful, the only thing is he needs a proper care, he have a little bit of dandruff but the worst part is that he have a lot lot lot lot of fleas and thicks poor baby he was scratching like crazy and I can notice why right away, so I am going to have a lot of work tomorrow. My question is what kind of shampoo is more effective killing fleas and thicks, but I am saying something GOOD for real because the situation is critic. Any advice will help me a lot thanks ;) |
Congrats!!! I would take the puppy right to the vet or groomer to get rid of the ticks and fleas. Iwould not want to bring them into my house. They can get him all fixed up for you. |
I agree take him to the groomer's and have him shaved, and all buggies removed. It's better to start out from scratch then try to keep up with what's already there. |
Hi & congrats, also agree first stop to the groomers:thumbup: cant wait for pics of your new guy:) |
Fleas are very harmful to puppies & kittens. It will take more than a regular treatment to get rid of them if they are as bad as you think. Please do not bring him home with the fleas/ticks - bring him to the vet and let him do the treatment, especially because he's a pup. Make sure to ask the vet what he suggests to use as maintenance after the treatment. Also, ask about the area that you live in - if it's wet, grassy and has alot of trees - there's fleas outside just waiting for your new baby... I'd suggest not letting him outside until colder weather. After being infested with them his little body needs some time to get strong. Good Luck and Congratulations on your new puppy!!!! |
That was my post as well do not bring puppy 1st bring him in and get him flea dipped usually at the vet's office. Then keep up the maintenance like frontline. Good luck and Congratulations on your new puppy. |
