Grooming the muzzle...such drama! Does anyone else have trouble with the muzzle? I can brush pretty much all the areas with relative ease, but when it comes to the muzzle, OH MY! I'm sure there is a high nerve count in the muzzle area, so I know it's sensitive. But it's also the area that can get sticky, crusty etc. Any tricks? Thanks! Ann |
:animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa Actually no, Winston doesn't mind me grooming his face, now his feet...that's something else. Maybe he's ticklish. |
Gracie hates to have her muzzle and beard groomed. Her little head bops all over the place. I have found that if I put my left thumb under her chin and the rest of my left hand behind her head, I can tip her chin up and get access to both sides of her beard, brushing with my right hand. I have also tried grabbing the left side of her beard and holding her while I brush the right, and vice-versa. The problem with that method is she bops around so much that one side ends up being messed up as soon as I have brushed it! I think the chin tilt method works best. I try to wash her little face every evening but sometimes I forget. |
Oh Yes the face is a big issue here too. I always have to wash it first or I can't even get the brush through it. |
Siu Pao doesn't fight me off when I brush his face. But, I have to make sure if there are dirty stuff stuck on the fur in his face, I use a wet cotton ball to clean it first so that when I brush through, it doesn't hurt him. Because I do it everyday, cleaning his face I mean and I never hurt him, I feel that he trusts me in doing it. |
