Puppy Cut for Seniors I'm liking the looks of these puppy cuts. Can a seven year old have one or are they just for the young uns? Also, I tried cuting the hair around Pixie's eyes and nose and it doesn't look too good. I used scissors, I'm thinking I should use clippers. How close should I cut around her eyes and nose? I've left the top knot which I like. But I think I may try the shorter look if it will work for older dogs. |
I think a puppy cut would be very comfortable for our Yorkies in thier Golden Years. I'm considering giving Jazzie a puppy cut when she starts to show signs of slowing down. But a seven year old is far from being a senior in my book! Jazzie is now 9 years old and I don't consider her as a senior she is very active and playful. But we do have full wellness check-up for her twice a year now including x-rays. |
I can't advise you on the trimming around the eyes and nose, I have a hard time with that myself. Usually I let the groomer do it but I have trimmed the hair growing towards his eyes with small blunt end scissors. I find it easier to do while he's having a bath because he is more submissive and doesn't struggle as much. As far as the puppy cut goes, any age Yorkie can wear a puppy cut and look adorable. In fact, the puppy cut makes them look like a puppy again:animal36 |
