Cutting hair on puppy ears I'm looking for the best clipper/trimmer to use for shaving my puppies ears. What I have now isn't working the best and I need something that will last as I am a breeder and will be having lots of little ears to shave up :) Any suggestions? . |
Have you tried the Wahl Pocket Pro? I like it because it fits in the palm of your hand and has very little vibration. It also comes with two comb attachments which are good for doing the pad and backside. I'm sure others will have some suggestions as well. |

As a groomer I highly recommend the Whal Peanut. They are safe and really make the job easy in doing ears and foot pads. |

They are calling it the Wahl TID-BIT Clipper . Says it replaces the Peanut. Same one ??? |
Wahl TID-BIT Clipper (Formerly Peanut Clipper) (Wahl #8685-041) Item 8685 Price $40.50 Wahl's new peanut trimmer is light weight and fits easily in your hand. 4" long weighs 4 oz. Great for shows or light trimming around feet and face. Includes #30 blade and 4 attachment combs. I should be fine then, it comes with 4 combs.......? |

No the Andis clipper is a dog clipper. You can get via Pet Edge or Cherrybrook, or any other pet supply company. It's the single speed Andis. I'll look up the model number and post for you in the morning. Just too lazy tonight to walk all the way back to the puppy room. |
Ok thanks !! |
What size Andis blade is used for a longer cut? My longest is 4f and that is too short. Thanks! |
clippers Check for the clippers at walmart.I was there yesterday and they had them for 15$ |
I usually add a comb attachment for a longer cut. You can use a 4F, but removing all risk of not taking too much off, I prefer a comb attachment. I like giving a neck definition, since at times cutting them all one length it looks like the dogs head is sitting on it's shoulders. So for that I use a 10 Blade. The Andis Plus is what I have. I groom, at it's been a work horse. Just keep the blades clean and oiled. |
Those are a good bargin if you have 1 or 2 dogs. But, if you use a clipper constantly, they tend to not hold up as long. |
