Great Bow Tip I read this somewhere and it works GREAT. Make a little topknot towards the eyes...a little more forward and down than you want the final thing. Secure with a rubber band. Slip the bow band over this...you don't have to twist these, as they are pretty small bands, usually, and aren't functional to hold the topknot in this instance. Then pull that ponytail into another ponytail/topknot using some hair farther back on the head. This "traps" the bow! It's straight! You don't have to worry about tightening bow bands and getting the bow all off center. The final topknot is in the right spot. It works great! It also allows you to get some of the shorter hairs toward the nose. YEAH!!! |
thanks for that tip have 2 try that out as kerra :aimeeyork , never looks right when i get it in:) |
Thanks for the tip. I am going to print that off and give it a try with Ben. His hair is so long, but he just will not keep it up! I put pig tails in earlier but there is only one in now. He looks hilarious. Maybe a double one like that will be a little harder for him and Sadie to get out. |
Good tip, I am going to try that too! Carley will lose her bow, and Cooper always finds it before I do, and unfortunately for me he doesn't put them back in the bow drawer  |
I'm not understanding these directions. |
That does sound like a good way to do them - I usually only want one band in my girls hair but may have to try that - here's a really good/easy topknot site for doing showbows - even better -they have pictures - http://www.yorkies4me.com/topknots.htm |
I'll take any advice I can get :) Hallie is NOT cooperating with me on anything except getting brushed. |
Hey - that's a good start! :p Mine doesn't like me brushing her belly, under her arms & legs or feet! (but I do sneak in the bows)...:D |
Great tip! |
I guess it's just you and me... Quote:

That is a great idea! I was just contemplating letting my girls hair grow out for a while, so we may have topknots soon:D Know what, I do this with my hair when it's too short to all fit in one ponytail, but there's no bow:laugh: It's almost like a french braid, but you're just pulling the hair straight back instead of dividing it into sections and braiding it. |
ok now lets see some pictures... |
hmmm, I've seen this on a site with photos, can't remember which site. |
Soooo, is there going to be 2 bows or bands??? I prob. understood it wrong:rolleyes: , but it sounds like there will be two bands. One little ponytail at the front that flows into another in the center of the head???? |
