Suggestions & Directions on a hair cut... I need help on how to cut Bailey's hair. She has a cottony coat and hates to be brushed. My husband said she looks like a pound puppy....great  ...I am planning on cutting her hair tommorow myself....I used to cut people's hair, so I (kind) of know what to do..:D ...her hair on her head grows straight out and spikey looking, kind of a beatle/rod stewart thing... I like the teddybear look....fluffy face, body and feet not too short, ... Thanks... |
Not sure, but this is MY opinion Gosh, I am surprise no one has replied :( Anyhow, She is ADORABLE! I think the puppy cut is beautiful.......especially on cottony coats. I love the way Denise cuts Maddie's coat. I LOVE Sophie's cut too (Sophies mom) and others I have seen. I like shorter body, a tad longer on the legs and the round puppy cut. Also, the tip of the ears trimmed (pointy looking) :p |
Do a search on 'puppy cuts' and you'll see CUTE pics!! |
Thank you Jesse, I was going to cut her myself, but my clippers although higher end, do not cut dog hair well, especially Bailey's thick curly hair. She was very patient until I pulled her hair and she was done..:p I am going to take her in this weekend and get her trimmed. Poor little girl, looks very unkempt right now. Thanks for the tips. |

Too funny! Sounds like my experience....... I decided to groom my toy poodle myself. Well, I used my husband's clippers and they jammed all to heck........I did a terrible job by the way  Needless to say, hubby was NOT amused and from now on she gets clipped only by a professional....... .. I must add that he forbade me to touch our boy.....lol :D Share pics of her when she gets back from the groomers :animal36 |
Just made her an appt Friday, so she gets to come to work with me... Too funny...using hubby's clippers...mine would kill me :) Bailey just hates to go in the car, I thought this would be less tramatic for her..:) |

She is super gorgeous :p |
You are all very kind. She is cute and I love her dearly, I am just not happy her hair is so short. I even brushed her out before I brought her in so she wouldn't have any tangles or matts. Her hair is super soft now. I had to put a sweater on her..it was 50 degrees today, but we still have snow on the ground. She is sleeping right now, her day was too stressful..I'll post her in her pink sweater a bit later. |
I think she looks cute! She can now wear all those cute sweaters without all the matts. |

As for Bobbi, my dream is to have him in a long coat. I trimmed him a month ago......but I did a poor job. I am going to leave it alone and see what happens. He does have a thin coat and it's silky.......so I don't have to deal with matts. Your girl is gorgeous. I am partial to the dark yorkies and she is just GORGEOUS :p |
I Honestly Think She Looks Really Great. I Like That Cut - So Easy To Manage, And Good For The Dog Too, No Getting Knots Or Feet Caught In Long Hair. The Hair Is Thin Anyway So I Dont Think The Long Hair Actually Keeps Them Much Warmer Anyway...... And Like Yorkieaddict Said She Can Wear Her Sweaters Easier Now Too. If You Really Dont Like It Dont Worry Too Much It Will Soon Grow Back. |
