eye & nose hair 1 Attachment(s) When I brought Annabelle to the groomer, I didn't tell her NOT to shave her nose, so she did. Now I am growing it out and it bothers her, sticks up all crazy and gets in her eyes. The hair in the corner of her eye/s gets all goopy and dark, it's not like eye boogers (I always get those out) but just like the hair is always.. wet? You can see it in the picture. Is there something eye safe to keep the growing hair tame for the next eon until it will reach her ponytail? And is there something I can use to help keep that nose hair from getting goopy? |
i always cut that hair with a tiny scissor i dont like that hair in the ponttail and for the wet pieces i cut that out too and you never notice it |
Keeping Yorkie's face/eye area clean My vet suggested getting some saline solution (you can just get soft contact lens saline solution from the drugstore) and using it with a cotton ball to wipe their faces every day or so. It's sterile, so squirt it out of the bottle onto the cotton without touching the tip to anything. It works well. |
well i took Daisy to the vet on Thursday and he told me to use neosporin or Vaseline on the hair to keep it down until it grows out |
I've been having the same problem with Simon. I can't stand for him to be crusty and wet around his eyes, so I try to remove it all I can. However, when I bathe him I am scared about getting water in his ears and his nose, so his face doesn't get washed very well. I will try that saline solution to help keep the crusties from the wetness away. Thanks, ya'll! |

Those short hairs around the eye can be quite irritating and can even cause infections. Keep the eye washed out with distilled water and a soft cheese cloth. To keep those hairs from poking into the eyes while they are grown out, the #1 All Systems Invisible Hold and Styling Gel is a great product for that. It won't attract dust and dirt like vaseline does. Also, even if you keep your dog cut down and don't do a top-not, don't cut the hair directly under the eyes. http://mjmcompany.com/1allsystems-grooming.htm |
