help with my babies coat hi can someone instruct me on my babies coat/fur. his hair is sooo fluffy hes like a poodle, but hes registeres and full bred he just is poofy, and are there different coats among yorkies, will his ever be long and silky? if so what can i do to help. im not able to take him to the groomers yet because they said he has tto have his second series of shots, and he just got his first with me monday, so im washing him myslef right now. when i got him he was soo ratted up and his hair was in his eyes and his tear spots were matted and were big clusters of tear gunk, and im still washing him to get that smell out of his fur, uhhh but for the time being maybe someone can help me with grooming myself for the next month, thanks |
That's just baby fur, as it grows out it will get alot more managable i'm sure, just try brushing regularly.:) |
i wish i could help .. but my dog's hair so soooo thin .. i wonder everyday if it will get thicker !!! |
Thanks If He Wanst Reg. Akc And Full Bred I Would Think Hes A Poodle :), But My Daughter Loves To Brush Him, I Want To Keep His Hair Shorter Than Most Yorkies With The Long Hair, But Keep It A Little Long And Shiny And Beautiful, Thanks Again You Guys. |
Some of the puppies are very fluffy, esp around 3 months of age. My pup's coat -baby coat- was thick black and crazy frizzy. It grows out though and the new adult hair is much silkier and stays down... It's a phase we have to deal with (sigh). |

Do you have pictures ? Even if he is registered as purebred doesn't mean that he will have a long silky coat . |
I think it is just puppy fur too. My Ben is a little fluff ball right now at almost 4 months. I have been using the diluted Cowboy Magic detangler on him when I brush. That tames it all for a while and sure is making him shiny. Might give that a try as you wait for the adult coat to come in. |
he may have a cottony coat that's thick and fluffly or poofy |
i don't have a thick coat problem mine is the opposite !! HE'S ABOUT 4 MONTHS AND HIS HAIR IS SOOOOO SOO THINK AND JUST STICKS UP IS IT GOING TO GET THICKER? HE LOOKS SOOO SKINNY AND HIS COAT IS SO THIN :( |
My 15 month old still has a thin coat; easily mats; I have tried Show Sheen and Ice on Ice for the mats; sometimes it is what it is....sorry. |
