Long Thick Coat ? Long Thick Coat Putting this thread in here, maybe someone can help me here -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, I just got another yorkie today, well be posting pics later on but any how, she is 7 mths old weighs about 4 + pounds and has very beautiful hair but she has soo much of it. It is thick but soft and silky. She is very black with red gold around face and legs. My question is I still want her hair long but just not so much of it. I will be taking her to the groomers soon but I don't know how to tell them to cut it without screwing it up. How can I tell the groomer to remove some of the bulkiness in it, do I tell her to texturize as we humans call it. I myself have alot of hair and very thick so I just tell my stylist to thin it out. Is that the same thing for dogs? You can't even tell she has a tail cause she has so much junk in the trunk with all that hair .Her hair is about 2 inches from touching the floor already and she still a pup. She does have a wave to it and has no signs of silver on her back just very seldom on her head like I said she is jet black on her back, around legs and chest So for all you yorkie owners that are familiar with this type of hair , how do I cut it without cutting it off. Please help................ Thanks Mimi |
Hi Mimi :) Sounds like you already have a yorkie or two. I would recommend taking your new pup to a groomer you're comfortable with - someone who will do what you ask, and not someone "scissor-happy". Someone you can trust as much as you would trust your own hairdresser!!! Can you help me? My Daisy is expecting five pups. I have assisted whelping other breeds of dogs, but this will be my first litter of baby yorkies! I'm so excited... cannot even sleep... I just keep checking her. Her due date was TODAY and she's pacing a bit. I have all my supplies ready and may have to call the emergency vet because my mind is rambling... I just realized I'm not sure how close I need to "cut the cord". Anyone know? I want to call my friend Lisa... but it's past midnight here. Help please? Thx, Tammy |
