I am so nervous... Mimi has an appt to get groomed tomorrow. I wanted to get her a puppy cut but now that the day is getting closer I am getting nervous and I am also thinking about cancelling her appt. I asked my fiancee for an opinion and he says I don't care...what big help! I'm just so scared that she's not going to turn out the way I want her to turn out. It's so bad I even have butterflies in my stomach. What should I do? Should I just cancel the appt for tomorrow? Obviously I am not ready to get her hair cut. Help Help Help!  |
Hmm, that's a toughie. I would say that if you are not ready, then wait. If you are nervous that it will not turn out the way you want you could stay with her at the groomers and watch. My groomer is always happy to let me stay when Louie is being cut, that way I can make sure he is cut the way I want and he is not mistreated. Also, taking a picture of what you want will help. But if you really aren't ready, then wait. |
I see your in NJ. Instead of a drastic puppy cut, which is nice in the summer, why not get her just trimmed. Legs, around the face and butt area. The weather will be changing shortly and her hair will keep her warmer in the cold. This way you will be happy with the neatness of the trim and your baby will not loose her pretty coat. P.S. Is the vinyland skating rink still there? I use to spend my weekends there many moons ago! |
 i agree |

I am going to cancel my appt for tomorrow. I'm too much of a chicken! I do want her trimmed and not shaved so I am going to shop around for someone that will allow me to stay with her while she's getting groomed. Thanks for the feedback everyone! |

Look for a groomer who has experience with yorkies and take a good picture with you of how you want your baby to be cut - that way there is no room for 'misinterpretation' and you should get what you want. Good luck when you decide to take your baby in - I'm sure she will turn out just lovely! |

I think that's what it is.....I hear too many horror stories and that's why I am scared. |
well let me just comment i took my princess to her first hair cut when she was 3 months they did the basic stuff, bottom legs, fanny, face and ears but her face came up horrible, because they shaved her top part of her nose so you could see like her face was round.....i dont know how to explain it but we didnt like it...thank God her hair grew back:D and now she is just beautifull as always:p and now we are just letting her hair grow |

I took Timmy to get groomed when he was 3 months old too and I told them not to touch his face...AND THEY DID! It took almost 2 months for his hair around his snout to grow. This was at Petsmart...they gave him more like a Schnauzer cut. I think I am going to buy all the supplies and start grooming them myself. Poor Mimi & Timmy....lol Practice makes perfect! |
why do they do that??? you are the paying customer, they should do what you ask, not what they think would look best |
