Thanks Villette! Seabreeze oil rocks~! After reading all of Villette's rave reviews for Seabreeze oil for cotton coats, I figured I HAD to have it. It arrived yesterday, the day AFTER bath day. So I haven't used it on a wet coat yet but used it this morning when brushing my 2 little cotton coats and really like it. Sugar has some broken hair that always comes out of his topknot. I used the Seabreeze oil when doing the topknot today and HUGE difference! If it worked for nothing else, it would be worth it for this! I've been using Ice on Ice which did nothing to help the topknot. They'll probably have to get an early bath this week because I'm dying to try it on a wet coat. I used it just like Villette has suggested. I did a quick, light spray on my hands, rubbed them together, then rubbed down a doggie. This stuff will last a LONG time! |
So, what exactly did it do for you? I know you said it helped with the topknot, but how? Did it make it easier to put in or what? How about detangling? |
Where did you buy it at? What is it originally made for? Thanks! |
I got it from Plush Puppy here: http://www.plushpuppy.net/seabreeze.html. It is to help prevent breakage and matting. It did make both of my cotton coats feel silkier but I bet it will work even better when I use it on wet fur. I didn't try it on my silk coat yorkie because I didn't think she needed it. How it helped the topknot: Sugar has some breakage up there and the broken pieces come out of the topknot and fall in his eyes. I rubbed some in his bangs before I put the ponytail in and it seems to be holding the little stray hairs back out of his eyes. I'm hoping in the long run it will strengthen that hair so I don't get the breakage. Having said all that, the main reason I bought it was to help prevent matting which its supposed to be great at. |
I have been debating for some time now whether to buy the sea breeze oil or the swishy coat. Trixie has lately had a wave in her coat and the swishy coat is suppose to help straighten her hair and make it lie flat. But someone here recently said they got sea breeze oil and it did the same thing plus help the matting and breakage??? She does have breakage where the topknot is and she does matt alot. I can't afford both at the same time, so I have to decide between the two and I don't know which one to go with. Is there any truth to the sea breeze oil helping the coat lie flat and straighter too?? |

The swishy coat (I think) only works if you blowdry their hair straight with it -I don't use it because I don't always use a dryer on my girls. The Sea Breeze will help a cotton coat lay flat - but not necessairly straighter - I like it because it IS for anti breakage and does make them easier to brush, adds shine and conditions the coat. and nikki - THANK you - how sweet of you to say that. |
so this seabreeze oil will work on matte hair? |
It will help prevent matts. To get matts out, I'm using CC Ice on Ice or (another Villette tip) No More Tangles- the stuff made for kids. I'm really liking it because it works really well and I got the strawberry scent so it smells great. I spray it directly on the knot. |
