I told them I need to see what they are doing because I want to make sure Tiger will be comfortable knowing I am around when they work in him. Of course the intent was so I can get tips on grooming him myself. They used these gadget (I am not sure what it is called but looks like an electic razor) and they ran it through all the parts I needed trim, including his facial area. It looks pretty easy and harmless and so it is good to just invest and then do it yourself. I tell you Tiger was so distraught and agitated, he pooped there which is a bit runny (so they told me - and he already did it that morning before we left for the groomer) and he barked while in the car the entire time we left and headed towards petsmart. He made a few more "runny" accidents and was so NOT himself. . .the poor baby. I think all petsmart grooming area are set-up the same way. Just got there and watch how they do it . .that is if no one close by can show you how. |
Hi, I am in Snohomish Wa. I have taken Cooper 2 times to be groomed. The first time she shaved him down, (I was soo upset). This last time, at another place, I think she just waved the scissors over his head. She did do his eartips, but that was all I could see that she really did. Sooo....I bought me a mustache and beard trimmer and have kept his little private areas shaved myself. It went well and he didn't mind too much. Last week I took scissors and kinda just gave me a small trim all over. Didn't look too bad if I say so myself. Husband wants me to go get him cut short again for summer, but he doesn't even look like the same dog when I do that, so I am not. Until I can find a good groomer, I think I will just do it myself. When I brush him, I just kinda trim the areas that look uneven or too long...it is working pretty good for now. |
Thanks guys, I think I'll scope it out. I'm taking Alphy in tomorrow, but it's a last resort. Maybe I'll invest in one of those kits with the video how to for next time, that I was I can just maintain his cut. Alphy's pretty good about just laying there and letting me do whatever to him. :D Tiger's mom... sounds like to really stressed Tiger out. :( |
