Yorkie coat question? have heard if you get your Yorkies coat shaved right down....you know what I mean very close shaven ....that it would grow back with a smoother coat.. .. Does anyone know if this is true???:animal-pa Scamp has hair like a sheep very wooly ......& thinking getting him shaved right down......Does it really grow in better???:aimeeyork |
I really doubt it. I know in humans the texture is defined by the hair follicle. Shaving wouldn't change the hair follicle. If you decide to do it and it works let us all know though. You also might try a product called Cowboy Magic, Concentrated Detangler and Shine. You can see if a store is near you by going to their website www.cowboymagic.com It is very good for cottony coats that matt. |
coat If a dog is soft or cottony, it does not change...what can change is, grooming out the knotted puppy hair and the adult coat can be a bit better with conditioners and such...but when you shave the wool from a sheep, silk does not grow back..same with a Yorkie...a short cut will be easy to care for and healthy for the dog...best wishes |

Re: Yorkie Coat Question It works. Once, when we I was going to Ky in the summer I had Pasha shaved real close due to the humidity and heat back home. His coat grew out wavy and shiny to it's original length.:aimeeyork |
