Grooming Table For those that do their own grooming...do you use a grooming table with an arm? I keep Remmy in a close shaved cut. I shaved his hair down last week. I got some Whal clippers at sams club. What i noticed is that he would not stand on the table I was using he wanted to lay down. And it made it very hard for me to give him an even shave. His hair on his back was even but when I to to his shoulders it is uneven. Also do you use the shaver on their legs? I found that difficult and ended up using scissors? I am wondering if investing in a grooming table with an arm would make it easier. That way I could get him to Stand instead of laying down. Not to mention I can't get Chance (the puppy) to be still when I am trying to groom him. He wants to sniff the scissors and clippers. |
grooming table I would be interested in that too! Or even an arm to clip to a table to hold a harness. Good luck to us both |

When I groom my boys, I always need an assistant. My husband will hold each while I do the clipping. I've never used a grooming table, but I am considering getting one. It would be easier than bending down! (But I would still need someone to assist). As far as the legs, I use scissors to trim them, since I leave the leg hair longer than the body. Using the clipper would make the hair too short. And I always use scissors around the face and ears, except the top third of each ear, where I shave them to get the 'yorkie' look. It might help you if you had someone to hold him while you clipped. Mine wouldn't stand still either if they had their way. :aimeeyork |
4 Attachment(s) I have this one which has helped me a lot in grooming Cali. |
Patti - what a GREAT looking table. Is it a lazy-susan? Would you share where you got it? |
I made my own grooming arm and I attach it to my counter top, |
LOLOL I use a cardtable so I can use a chair to sit in. :D I've trained mine since they were tiny to stand while I comb or brush them. Now when I trim or whatever, they stand there so good. |

I bought a new grooming table with an arm and noose on e-bay for $10.00. Shipping is ridiculous, but it is still cheaper than anywhere else. I also bought an additional noose that holds up the head and rear for my one that loves to keep sitting.... omega |

I believe they have them at Petedge too. |
Hi all! I found YorkieTalk while I was researching for a grooming table for my 3-year-old Yorkie. I want to do some sanitary trims and touch-ups in between the sessions with her professional groomer. So I have quite a few information now and I think I will go for the one mentioned here: https://yorkie.life/how-to-choose-a-...-pro-groomers/ - the round one with the Yorkie on top. I saw someone above who is using similar (or the same) one. What brand for a round table should I look for? I decided to be one without legs because it is much easier to put it in different places at home. I am not sure if it is better than the ones with the legs but I guess is much better than nothing :) |
Dog Up Stand Have you seen this - looks interesting to add to your grooming tools. https://www.dogupstand.com/ |
Wow, I have never seen such a stand :) It looks interesting though. I guess I will have to buy the rest of the grooming tools before spending money on this one :) Thanks for the suggestion, I will put it in the "wish list" :) |
