Have you ever used "Mr. Groom?" 1 Attachment(s) Posted this yesterday in "products" but got no answers. Maybe someone will see it here! Mr. Groom Spray is a coat and skin conditioner. Dreama's groomer recommended it as something she uses on Dreama, so I bought some. On my way home I read the ingredients: contains ethyl alcohol and petroleum distillates, and now because of that I don't want to use it. Has anyone ever tried it? Is it normal for conditioners to have this icky stuff in them? Thanks for any help you can give me. |
Hmmmm...I've been reading ALOT of labels recently and none of the products I use have ethyl alcohol in them...I would be leery of that because it could get into their eyes...and petroleum distilla-thingies ? That sounds like a derivative of gas / petrol products... It sounds more like a finishing spray to me but I sure am no expert....They will usually have a really good smell but I can't vouch or say what longtime use will do.... Have you tried it on her ? I bet you sure can't have that near heat or flames..lol - I bet it works ...but if it were me...I don't know if I'd use it ... |
Nope, I am kinda afraid!! Quote:
Can you believe they use it on pups?? What's up with that?? |
Hi that doesn't sound good at all. I use a lot of the A1 All Systems products on my Yorkies, both show and cutdowns. They have a conditioning shampoo then I also use their conditioner. As a spray conditioner they have a moisturizing one that is in a spray can that you can use on mats or just to brush through between baths. There is also a pump one just called groomers spray or something like that. I am sure they have a website. |
Never heard of it before! |
I paid $15 for it... I have never used it, and I wish I could take it back to Crissy, but she's a professional groomer, and I don't want her to feel bad as I have to keep taking Dreama to her. Well, we don't HAVE to, but she IS Dreama's former owner and this way she gets to visit her... SO I guess I will just throw it out. I was going to use it as a door prize at the MeetUp but if I don't want it, why would anyone else? LOLOLOL Yuck. Teach me not to read labels!! I just thought a groomer would know what to use... :( |
Maybe you can just take it back or exchange it for something else....or give it to your groomer ? There's no rule that says you had to like it just because she does !! :) |
Yeah, makes sense to me... Quote:
I am thinking that I will take it back and exchange it. OR I will make Dave do it when he takes Dreama in next week!! YEAH!! That's the ticket! (I bet he won't do it either, lololol :D ) |
A groomer recommended Mr. Groom as well as a shampoo & conditioner for one of my yorkies. I assumed that she is the expert, so I bought all of it even though I don't really like aerosol sprays (Mr. Groom). When I got it home and read the ingredients of Mr. Groom, i.e., alcohol, etc., I decided that I had to return it. There was no way I was going to use this on my yorkie. I confirmed with my Vet that alcohol would dry his skin even further, and then returned it to the product-pushing groomer. I kept the shampoo & conditioner which were of a different brand and expensive, so I didn't feel too badly about returning the Mr. Groom. |
Wow, happy to hear that! Quote:
