Yorkie Ears Good afternoon, I’m wondering if anyone has had a 2 year old yorkie with floppy ears (her hair on her ears has never been cut)can her ears stand up at this age? We definitely need to cut her hair now it’s so long, and I’m not sure if we should have the groomer just remove all of the hair and see what happens. Should they just be trimmed shaping them as her ear? I just don’t want them to look like a box 😉 any ideas? Thanks so much. I’m not sure how to post a picture? |
Two of my now passed girls had floppy ears. I never had them shaved, had groomer just trim the hair to the shape of their ears. At 2 years old they will never stand up. Ears should have been shaved when she was a puppy 4, 6 weeks old that would have kept weight off the ears to help them stand up. Pictures have t be 200KB or under to post them. You have to resize your photos. |
Thank you, I can’t actually find where to attach the picture to begin with. I don’t see attachment. My sons yorkies ears actually went up at the age of 3 once all the hair was shaved off lol and I’ve heard a few people tell me their ears went up as well later. I was just wondering if anyone else had thoughts lol thanks 😊 |
If you know of ppl that had 3 year old dogs ears shaved and the ears became straight, then have your pups ears shaved, but leave them shaved for a long time because, if ears will stand up, it won't happen over night. Hair is weight, weight will keep ears down. You have nothing to lose, hair grows back. To attach pictures, when you're in the posting window, at the top, see size, then A, then white smiley face, then a paper clip. Click on the paper clip, a window opens, has Browse, you have to click one of the Browsers to select your picture then click on up load, but, your pictures have to be 200KB or under, if they are not you will get a notice to resize the pic. if the pic. is the correct size it will upload just follow the instructions after that. |

I'm using a computer, I don't know what YT looks like on a mobile device so I can't guide you on that. |
4 Attachment(s) All but one of mine have floppy ears. They don’t go up after they become an adult if they haven’t. This is how my dogs ears are. |
