Bravura & other 5 in 1's Hi.. I have been reading through clipper advice and don't see anything recent. I just bought a Bravura Lithium Ion and I don't quite understand what combs to use with which blade setting. Alias's hair is short ( from the groomer) on the body. She uses a 7F on his body and we leave his legs blended into bell bottoms. His head I leave a topknot and long mustache & beard. So the only thing I need the clippers for is his body. The rest is scissors. I put my new clippers on #9 blade setting and then put the smallest comb over it 1/8" I believe. Here's the funny part. I got so into it...so happy I was doing the grooming that I failed to notice that no hair was coming off onto the towel on the table. This fun ( dah ) went on for 12 minutes. Now I'm not sure what setting to use? I would appreciate any and all advice on how to use these 5 in 1's properly. Alias's hair right now is still very short from his last groom. About 2 months growth. I want to keep it 7F short. |

Katysmom Bravura & Fun Hahahahaha Glad you had a chuckle..... I think i'm almost getting the hang of these clippers. Well sort of Alias sees the clippers and runs into his fort/purse which is a small carrier....and the smart part is he........FAKES SLEEP. Thanks and look forward to talking more......:aimeeyork Maybe you can tell me why every photo i try to put as my avatar is upside down or sideways. This can't be as hard as the clippers......lol |
Chuckling at the notion of "fake sleep." Alias is just adorable. |

I know this post was fm last year...but did you figure it out? Gosh, I haven't been on YT in forever, did visit sporadically & missed your post. But for what you want (the 7F), Bravura will not work. Bc you need a blade that is 7F & they are detachable blades. You need a clipper that uses these detachable blades. Bravura is great for everything else, like sanitary trims including the paws, ear tipping & using under attachment combs. If you use #9 setting on Bravura (which I think is the longest?), it will be shorter than 7F. Remember, w/ blades: the higher the #, the shorter the cut. #9 will work on soft coated dogs that have a lot of hair. But not good for silky coat, they will get sunburned & possible clipper burn. That's not actual burn fm the clipper but more of an irritated skin kind of thing, fm the close shave. |
