Does the nose hair near the eyes need to be trimmed? I have been watching grooming videos and I see a lot of videos where the groomer trims around the nose hair only where it's near the eyes. Are you suppose to trim this hair or do you let it all grow out? I have let Chloe's nose hair grow out but sometimes the pieces right next to her eyes go into her eye and make the nose hair wet. Just wondering if only these pieces are usually trimmed? Thank you :) |
If you continue to let it grow out, and part it in the middle of the nose, you'll never have to trim around the eyes. The hair will grow long enough that it will blend in with the hair that lays alongside of the nose. It won't poke the dog in the eye anymore. |

This is what I was thinking.. that maybe her nose hair is long but not long enough. |
I prefer to let the weight of the hair pull it away from the eyes. I never cut any hair on the nose pr near the eyes. I use a mustache comb to train the hair away from the eyes. It's like the CC face and leg comb. I have them both, but the Madan one is a third of the price of the Chris Christensen. toplinepet.com |
I grew Blazer's nose hair out and don't have to worry about him getting poked in the eyes by it. |
No don't cut it! Whatever you do, put the shears away & do not touch it! It will be torture to grow it out again, a long painstakingly 6+ months & the whole time, they need to endure painful pokes to their eyes by the darn nose hairs. hahaha:D Let it grow, the weight of the hair will make the hair around the bridge of the nose lay flat. It will look beautiful & be so much easier to take care of. |
Okay, I will continue to grow out the nose hairs. Hopefully sometime soon they'll just lay flat so she can look sexy, lol. |
