Favorite Dog Scent Do you have a favorite doggie scent in a shampoo, conditioner or cologne? I am addicted to PetSilk Rain Forest Conditioner on my pups, just because of the scent. I also have the cologne spritzer for in between shampoos. They get a bath once a week, and for the first couple days, I just can't stop sniffing them.... especially when they are sleeping on my pillow. It is getting hard to find over here, and sometimes I pay more for shipping than for the product when I order..... but I am hooked. I don't even have an opinion of how it works as a conditioner, I just love the scent. What do you love? I'm not fond of musk smells, or Minksheen. |
I love the baby powder smell, I love the shampoo and the spritzer but it's getting hard to get at present too! |
I've always loved Lambert Kay's "Fresh N Clean". It's long been a favorite of mine. Tibbe is out and I really need to get some more. I adore that scent on tiny, toy dogs like Tibbe or any size Poodle. It smells like clean baby powder mixed with spring flowers or something - just the fanciest, cleanest(but not spicey or citrusy at all) scent of all. |
Thanks for reminding me - Just bought two 12 oz. spray cans of it on Amazon - love that scent so much. |
I like the Yorkie sheen detangler. I just like the clean scent. |
I'm really sensitive to fragrances, but fruity scents tend to bother me the least so that's what I usually go for. I don't understand putting heavy fragrances on animals with such a strong sense of smell. The stuff most groomers use around here makes me gag. I really like this mellow mango shampoo/conditioner, I found a bottle at a discount store and can't get anymore (without paying $$$) because it's a UK product. :( Ocado: House of Paws Mellow Mango Dog Shampoo 500ml(Product Information) I also saw a shampoo/conditioner at TJ Maxx that smelled like gummy peaches, I wanted it but didn't buy it because I already have 2 bottles of shampoo and only one small dog. |
Teddy has his own little puppy scent that I love. :D I have a sensitive nose and my boys don't really like strong hair product scents either. We use Bio-Groom the most, but I can't say we love the smell. Espree, Pet Silk, and Isle of Dogs, I find pleasant. My favorite is probably Vellus. It's very light and clean. |
I don't like the strong perfume stuff either. But, oh the fresh clean rainforest I just can't get enough of. I do want to try some others though. Can't wait to go to bed tonight with clean sheets and clean Rainforest scented doggies...... a dog lover's bliss. :D:D:D |

when I was camping, it was advised to NOT use anything that had a fragrance to it, due to it caused bees, mosquito's and other insects to be drawn to you, same goes for pets. I usually spray "OFF" in the palms of my hands and lightly go off their fur, then they smelled like OFF, not to pleasant, put it kept the bugs away. Now that warmer weather is near, is there a shampoo / conditioner that smells fresh but NOT sweet or heavily fragrant? |
The most AWESOME yummy scent I ever found (and I've tried plenty) is the spray cologne by Oster, in the tropical scent. It's a soft coconut, baby-powdery, vanilla scent that is super easy on the nose, very soft. It used to be sold at Walmart for like $3...so I bought up like 25 bottles when it was going out of stock. Now, it's on Amazon for $13: ![]() I'm super sensitive to scents...can't have anything strong or super flowery, so this tropical scent is perfect bc it's so soft. |
That's Fresh N Clean - it's so subtle and soft, just right for a little dog. I adore lovely scent and wear perfume daily myself. |

But they always get the PetSilk Rain Forest conditioner to finish. (Not to be confused with PetSilk Tropical Forest, which is not the same). |
