Question? Today was the first day that Chip has been to the groomers, she did a great job but I was wondering about shaving or trimming around the rectum. She did this and he acts like something is wrong, like tucking his tail and takes off running like he is hurt, I checked it out and it looks fine. I wonder if it's because it's the first time it just feels funny. Crazy question,I know. |
Sometimes they get a little close and it's like a rug burn. Should be fine in a day or two |
Thanks Nancy, he has always been cranky about his bottom, even if he gets a pine straw on it,would think it was a snake.:) |

I hope Chip is back to normal in the morning. |
Oh dear. Jasper is so going to hate me next Friday. It's his first grooming. :(For the first time they said they bathe them then they do the face, bottom, feet, clean ears, trim nails and anal gland expression (which I told them I do not want them to do). They will use scissors to trim the ends of his body coat to even it out. They don't do more because they want it to be as pleasant as possible and get them used to the trimmers and noises the first two or three times. But...he will still hate me. Were the rest of you this nervous the first time? I feel like I did when I had to go back to work after maternity leave. I cried all the way to work the first week. :( |
Y'all were right, Chip is better this morning.poor Max he was confused also, Chip just laid there giving me the stink eye, lol. I checked out the anal gland cleaning on YouTube , looks like it might be simple, has anyone tried? I'm like MomtoJasper, I don't want a groomer doing that. I heard that here on YT. |
Daisy gets that way when she goes to the groomers and I have looked to see what was bothering her and it is like a razor rash. She is ok in a few days I just clean her off after she pees so it doesn't burn. I will use a wet wash cloth. |
