1st Bath Ok I need to give Darla a bath. I am ordering her a mustache comb and another brush from Jenny tomorrow along with a shampoo she recommended but I do not think I can wait much longer to give Darla a bath. In the meantime what can I wash her with and brush her with? |
jenny is a super fast shipper. But if you can't wait, I would use a very mild shampoo, preferably a puppy shampoo. You can brush her with any soft comb but be careful because puppy fur is coarse and you want her to have a good experience to get her used to it. |
My baby Banana is 12 weeks she has had lots of play time in the tub. I give her a bath once per week but I fill the tub with warm water for her to just swim and play with her toys. She really likes the water and that way I get to Clean her like face and eyes too. |
Oh ya I have a slicker brush that I use on the body. And a flee comb on her eyes and face. And a comb that has large teeth on one end and small on the other. I use Isle of Dogs shampoo, conditioner and conditioning spray. I also have tropiclean papaya and a puppy one too but. I love the smell of Isle of Dogs b |
I wouldn't use a slicker brush on a Yorkie because they don't have an undercoat - those things can hurt ;) A pin brush is a good option :) |
How is your little one after the nightmare of getting her to you? Hope she is bonding with you well. |
Thanks for the info on the slicker brush. I will pick up a pin brush ASAP. I don't want to hurt my girl. |

Just a few mins ago she got up from sleeping on the couch got down and started walking nose down on my carpet i took her into the bathroom and sat on the toilet and kind of made her stay on the pee pad, after 3 mins she went pee on it. I praised her came back into the living room gave her a cheerio as a treat for potty'n on the pad, what did she do not 5 mins later? You guessed it peed on my kitchen floor. |

---the pin brush looked like it HURT, to me! lol |
I am giving Jasper his first bath. I'm curious if the sink or the tub woulb be better? I want him to enjoy it and not be afraid. To be honest I'm a nervous wreck! Ive never bathed anything so small. :( HELP?! |
I always bathe them in the sink. I find the tub too big & scary for them, and bending over the tub is harder on my back. When we did work on the laundry room, we put in a deep utility tub for the pups. Its great for me because I have all of their supplies and a grooming/laundry table right there. I also avoid the mess from the after bath "shake" in my kitchen!:) Lori |
