Hairdryer advice I need to buy a hairdryer, and it will primarily be used on the boys. I looked at the pet hair dryers, and it seems almost all of them have bad reviews. I started looking at people hairdryers and quickly got overwhelmed  I want one that isn't too hot (so I guess multiple heat settings?), and isn't too loud (although I'm comparing it to the big one the groomer uses, maybe they are all quieter than that). I keep looking at this one Amazon.com: Goody Heat Smart Temp Blow Dryer:... Because of all the heat settings I'm thinking that the lower settings wouldn't be too hot? What do you use, and what do you like/dislike about it? |
I just use my own cheap vidal sassoon dryer and put it on low. I just started blow drying Mandie though..others will have some good suggestions for you. However, I just looked at the one you posted and I think I'm getting that for ME. That looks great! |
I use a ceramic Andis with cold air...but am getting a mini blower myself as they are far better. |
I would love to see responses to this too. Right now I use my dryer. It does have multiple settings on it. |
I use a Vidal Sassoon, or any people hair dryer will do. I tend to dry mine on warmer to hot setting (dries faster), but I keep it off their skin and move it around alot to avoid burns. It has 3 heat settings and 2 speed settings, so lots of choices to get the temp I need. I also use a flow concentrater, a funnel like thing that fits on the end of the dryer for more directional control. I think Conair makes a quiet dryer... I didn't think it had enough power for me... but to use for one dog would be okay. One important thing I look for in any dryer... the air intake needs to be on the back end, not on either side. This allows me to lay the dryer down without blocking the intakes and overheating the dryer. As for pet dryers, I had one called the Super Duck which was great, but has been discontinued. Maybe find one on Ebay... Any other pet dryers don't get hot enough or have enough speed for my liking. |
My daughter bought the cheapest blow dryer they had at walmart when she was on a trip & forgot hers (lil black vidal sasoon one). She left it at home when she went back to college. It's become my go-to dryer to use on ZoE...because it's small & light. I have a couple of really nice expensive hairdryers, and even the one that is "featherweight" is still too heavy & too long. By the time I'm done bathing ZoE, and brushing/combing her out, trimmed her nails, buzzed her ears, I'm tired. I want something small, light-weight, and easy to use. This little thing is perfect. |
