But I have the same fears that you have - I am NOT an 'artistiic' kind of person, I always let every one do everything else for me, LOL (I pay for my pedicure, manicures, hair color, eyebrows waxed etc) on myself, as I just am not good at doing any of that kind of stuff by myself, so I never thought I'd want to groom him myself. I guess we shall see. He will obviously be good for a while, since he was just done, so maybe I'll start with at least taking care of his nails and hair growing around his eyes, and private areas, etc. I do have the option of another mobile groomer we tried, and I really liked her, but I did not like the way she did his face, but otherwise did a nice job and seemed to take really good care of him. It's just so hard for me to give him to any groomer because he's SO scared going in. He always starts shaking and panting real hard and tries to stay in my arms :( |

Yea.. I dunno thats a hard one- Peanut's groomer has never knicked him, I know I would be mad, esp the 2nd time not sure if I would start doing it myself Lol I would try to find someone else.. I mean you can try it- see how you do- but it is going to take you a awhile for it to look good'! Haha I'm really good at doing my own nails, hair - mani pedis u name it on me I can do it... I am not a groomer LOL something about their hair is really hard, plus we like it so short its a little harder to do.. as well as making it look smooth with out all those lines!! Maybe try the other groomer..?? Just really stress on the face with her, maybe ask her to leave the part she messes up on so you can show her what you like? I'm so like you.. I'm really picky on how Peanuts face is done Lol.. his groomer has finally got it down- How come he is so scared going in? Is it just the " mobile" type that scares him? Poor guy.. Quote:

A groomer here... 3 Attachment(s) Attachment 376875 Attachment 376876 Attachment 376877 Wahl Chromado clippers adjustable or you can use attachment combs. This is the only clipper I use! Experiment experiment experiment. That is exactly how I started. Try You Tube for examples. For the head I shave the tip of the ear and give my yorkies the butterfly look on the face. It is stunning. Yorkies are my speciality and I will tell you they are over 60% of my business. |
Don't be scared.:) It is just hair. It will grow back. Believe me... Dogs are wiggly. I'm fairly tolerant about mine getting hurt by somebody if they tell me what happened (in the case of wuicking a nail, I don't care at all). She should have showed ou so that you could watch it. I would not trust her. I'm not into dropping the kids off and leaving them with random people either. That'd be a big no for me, esp. if I barely knew the groomer. My dogs are not show dogs, so it doesn't really matter. I can't justify paying for somebody to whack off hair when I can do it myself (but that's me). I'd skip the dremmel and get nail clippers. Everybody quicks nails. No big thing. (btw, I don't fix my hair and paint my nails about twice a year max - not my thing) |
