Isle of Dogs Ok.. because I am a product junkie.. I want to give IOD a try. What do you like?? Recommend?? Thanks all! |
Oops! I meant to put this in the grooming section (watching tv and typing:) .. Admin if you could move this that would be great! |
Full disclosure: I sell IOD products. Gail, a.k.a. Gemy, is probably the best person to talk to about IOD products. Based on her recommendations, I have in my bathing rotation the No.10 Evening Primrose Oil Shampoo or the Royal Jelly Shampoo, and No. 51 Heavy Management Conditioner. I also love their brushing sprays. For Yorkies with coats that tend toward the oily side, light management conditioner would be sufficient. I have not tested the Everyday line (Silky Coating shampoo and conditioner) on my boys yet. Jenny, Mimimomo, also sells IOD at toplinepet.com |
I love IOD products! They really do leave the coat looking great & so silky. I've been a bad yorkie mum lately, as I've severely neglected ZoE's coat care routine the past month due to constant work on house projects....but I know the IOD condition is magic & will get her coat back on track in no time. I'd highly recommend it! |

I have used IOD for over 3yrs now, and just love the #10 Shampoo, and oh my I can not get along without the #51 heavy conditioner. Now I don't always use the heavy conditioner, but two seasons a year I do, always always. Summer because of the heat, the swimming et al, and winter when Razzle adores to lay over the hot air registers! Leave it in for 15 minutes or more if you think that the hair is dry and or brittle. And use it full strength. For a very special treat, say during holiday season, use the Gloss Shampoo and Nutrient Masque, Oh my Oh my, that hair will gleam so much. Warning it is very pricey, so that is why I say only for special occasions. I only used this for show weekends; and special times. You need to use full strength, and leave masque on for at least 20 minutes, preferably 30 minutes. I also use the conditioning spray, and I mix a bit of the Jasmine spray into their regular conditioning/strengthening spray. They have a ton of other products for the show dogs, but those three above will serve everyone very well indeed. These products are not cheap to buy, but I am only on my second litre of Shampoo, and just now need to get some more #51 conditioner. So 2 litres over 3 years is not so bad, and one litre of conditioner. This is what you need to consider when looking at the price. Remember a show dog gets washed once per wk, and I wash everyday on show wkends. I adore the stuff! |

I use the Silky formula on Yorkies and Golden. They always smell so good afterwards. Buddy the Golden does not like smelling like a girl though :) |
I use IOD Shampoo #10, #51 heavy conditioner, and the conditioning and detangling sprays. They are wonderful! I was wondering how the #12 shampoo is with the higher concentration of evening primrose oil. During the winter with the heat on which could possibly dry out of the coat, is it something that anyone recommends? Gemy, the glossing shampoo and nutrient masque sound great! |

Lisa, with Katies coat, from what I know of it, you only will need the heavy duty conditioner. It's not thinning is it? That might be a different thing if it is. Also Lisa, you need a good clarifying shampoo. Should be used no more than once per month. You probably can use one now, as Katie has been in and out of the water a lot. This is a deep cleaning shampoo. CC has one. I happen to like the Vellus one. |
I have so many products here I could open my own store! I will have to try this....Gemy do you order online, is it available here? |
