Face Hair 2 Attachment(s) I'm having trouble knowing which way his face hair should go, I think I've been parting it to far up and it makes it touch his eyes. So I'm trying to reshape it with a hair clip, I could only find a girl one :( So does this look better or did I make to much hair up in the clip? Before and After, what do you think? |
Oh what a sweet face! Joey had the same problem, which hair goes in the mustache and what goes in the topknot? I was told any hair below the eye goes into the mustache and the rest goes into the topknot. I think these mini clips can be used on both boys and girls, but he looks adorable in his little clip! |
If you look in the kids or baby section of the store sometimes you can find blue clips.... I've been trimming Jaeger's nose hair (gosh, that sounds wrong!) but he's been fighting me about it and I can't get it short enough. If I let it grow out, will it grow long enough to stay out of his eyes? |
I just keep brushing Oliver's back, stays put most of the time. Don't want to cut it, hubby says top knots etc are too girly. *shrug* so I keep brushing it back. |
Just wait, you'll see what hairs are ''in the way'' on the nose and have to go in with the topknot. I reccomand using latex bands in the hair instead of clips, the clips always fall out while you can have a band in a whole day (you have to change everyday so it wont matt, and re-do them). I find the latex bands are better than plastic ones, and here they are cheaper. I do like a V shape when I part the hair between the eyes. Not unlike what you did in picture 2 :) |
Roxy's mom, I reccomand you start using bands for his hair. If he gets hair in his eyes that can cause an eye infection, that's not good, so keep it short or in a topknot :) ! Hair in the eyes (it always goes into the eyes when it is that long) cause irritation, red eyes, that can lead to an infection. |
I use the claw clips for everyday, latex bands and bows for dressing up. The hair can be trained, every morning and a couple times throughout the day (if needed) I wet the hair, tidy up the parts and redo the clip. It may be intensive for the first week or two, but the hair will get better at staying where you want it. Also, try looking at the pics of the dogs in the showing forum. |
1 Attachment(s) I have teeny tiny clips and regular sized clips for Riley's bangs that look like this..... I have seen the regular sized ones at CVS... bed bath and beyond.... other drug stores, but I can't find the teeny tiny ones, anymore. |
Jaeger's hair, even the hair on his forehead, isn't long enough to put in a topknot. |
I think that if the hair on the nose grows longer, it will have more weight to keep it down naturally. Maybe try wiping gently under his eyes with a moist cotton ball to keep the stray hairs and goobies out of his eyes while it's growing. It will grow quick. You just have to resist the urge to cut it while it's in the awkward stage! My dog has one strand of hair on the corner of only one eye that goes neither up or down: Only straight out. It makes me crazy. Every day I look at it and wonder which direction to try to make it go. I usually put it up, but it just ends up straight out again. |
Tough call. I fought so hard to try and train Elvis' nose to eye hair...finally we parted it then trimmed eyelashes...I wish I would have kept trying to put more in the top knot now. |
1 Attachment(s) I don't trim any hair, only wayward whiskers... here's a pic of the claw clips I use, they come in 3 sizes (and monster size for human hair). You can also get them in colors and glitter... they don't pull the hair, and if they lose them, no biggie, they're cheap! Attachment 371681 |
I don't cut any face hair. Where the inner corner of the eyes are is where the hair separates. Anything above that inner corner of the eye goes up and the rest goes to either side of the nose. I am impressed that he keeps the clip in! Gracie has never liked them. I would love to use them on her but she has them out within minutes. I use non latex grooming bands usually but I also use the tiny fabric scrunchie things. I also have the "no damage" bands you can buy at Walmart. The growing out process can be frustrating at times. When the hair is at that awkward stage you just do whatever gets their beautiful eyes out from under the hair. |
about ur babies bangs if u want his bangs shorter so they dont grow to be long cut them short they look very good. that's what I do to my baby boy. |
When Laddy was smaller we tried the topnot which my DH hated so we have trained his hair to part down the middle and lay flat. He has the finer silky coat so it does well. Kyra on the other hand looks like a mini sheepdog with hers down. |

I also cut the hair that grows on his nose and up into his eyes so he doesn't get an infection. He looks adorable with bangs. If you don't plan on showing him why not cut bangs! I think he would look adorable too! |
