My Baby has really thin hair Just a quick question for some of you :) My girl has really thin hair... def. not as thick as some of the pictures I see out there! She's 15 months old.... I'm thinking I may have to do a puppy cut because she's looking scraggly..... Any thoughts?? I assumed all Yorkie's had the same thick coat  |
I am not sure, without a pic or anything, but what you may be describing is the classic gorgeous silky coat that distinguished Yorkies from other breeds....some pay a lot of money and breeders try to breed pups that will have that silky coat!!! Babies with silky coats are often described as looking scraggley....that coat will mature and grow into something spectacular, if it is indeed silk! |

I thought my Yorkie had been in the back of the line when they were giving out fur for her litter (of 2). She was always cold and I felt so sorry for her. I would not let them cut her hair because it was so thin! I was afraid she would freeze, even in the summer! Well, now I'm glad I let her fur grow. She has a lovely long silky coat. It does mean that I have to give her weakly baths but it takes very little time to wash and dry her pint size little body so it's not an issue for me. She is gorgeous. I do agree that a shorter hair cut on her would probably look choppy. Since she hides under her blanket if a fan or the AC is on during the summer I don't think I will try a short hair cut. |
Khloe will be 5 months old this week. She has really thin hair too. Bows just slide off her hair so now I just put grooming bands in it to pull it back. One of the ladies that work at my groomers commented on her thin hair. I felt kind of bad. Well they are just puppies and who knows. One good thing so far there is not must matting . l love Khloe's silky hair but I was wondering about that thinness. |

CoCo's thin hair. 1 Attachment(s) I'm so glad I searched for this thread. My baby has thin hair too. I would love to put it in a topknot, but the bands just slide out, and so do any type of bows or clips. She also looks scraggly within 3 days of getting a bath. CoCo is 15 months old and I just figure she will have thin hair forever. Here is her picture sleeping with her doll. |
