Infusium leave in conditioner..... I admit I am not the best when it comes to grooming... I bathe the dogs every week to 10 days, I brush them at least once a day but most of the time Westley's chest and belly doesn't get brushed as well as it should because he won't lay on his back like the others do, and he hatesnit and fights me, so I brush "at it" as best I can. Needless to say he does get tangles and mats u der his front legs and right on his chest. I was bathing them today and was at a loss as to what to do because once again he was fighting with me and I didn't want to cut his hair. Normal detanglers don't seem to work and he hate the noise the spray bottles make, so at my whit's end, I grabbed the bottle of Infusium 23 leave in conditioner off my counter and poured some in my hand and rubbed all over his chest. I figured if it didn't work, I would just cut his hair on his chest. Well, it worked! The tangles just melted away!!! I am definitely adding this to my arsenal of products to use on them. I used it on Allie too because her hair seems to look stringy and dingy. It's soft, and beautiful! I had already bathed Noah and Darby or would have used it on them as well. |
Glad you've found something that works for your pups :). I've learned not to listen too much to what dogs products people say are the "greatest" cos it's just like people products, what works for some doesn't work for others, and people's view of what looks good often varies significantly from what I think looks good. Infusium 23 is a great people leave-in conditioner, so not too surprised to hear good results on your yorkie. Did you leave it in or rinse it out? You'll have to let us know how it works with repeated use and if there is any build up. I've used Patene people conditioner on my yorkies for decades with great results, when I've ran out of doggie conditioner. |

Thanks for the tip! I have trouble with my girls tangling so will have to give this a try. I used it on my own hair in the past and it always worked great! |
I am about the same with grooming as you. TRY to get them bathed every weekend. I have a priss with thin mostly silky coat and an active bruiser with a cottony coat. I was at my wits end with Leilani (the cottony bruiser) recently and ordered about 5 different products. Before any of them made it here I broke down and shaved her belly. This has REALLY helped, and you cant see any noticable change in her appearance. I will definitely continue to shave. We live in Louisiana so no cold weather to consider. So then my products have started coming in and tonight I used Coat Handler Conditioner and Anti Static spray. This made a world of difference on her legs and whats left of her undercoat on the sides. I will surely try the Infusium as well. Thanks for sharing. |
