Morkie hair help 4 Attachment(s) My Morkie, named priscilla, is a few days over 6 months old. I really want to grow her hair out long enough, so I can put her hair up with a bow. It doesn't seem like her out has grown any since I've had her. I got her in September. The only part of her hair that has growth any in her ear hair, which I just recently cut off. Her hair is long enough to put a latex band around, but I want it to like water fall from the sides. I'll attach some pictures of my baby, and one of how I want her hair to be. At 6 months your pup still has her puppy coat. It will take a year or two to get a nice top not going on... and that depends alot on how her adult coat turns out. Be patient....:D |
My ZoE recently turned one year old and only now getting a somewhat decent topknot. Some dogs have thicker coats than others and ZoE's, while very silky, it somewhat thin. Just give it time :) |
Thanks!!! :) |
Just wanted to add that the Yorkie in this picture has really great hair, it’s the kind of hair every breeder strives for. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...e-122311-2.jpg The right diet helps and the right products can also help a little, but the main thing is genetics and what the parent's hair was like. It takes a couple of years to really know what type of hair your dog will have, she’s a cutie and it looks like she’ll have silky hair, and that can be a blessing. The best type is silky and abundant. |
Your baby is a little cutie. As already stated it takes time. It seems to me that the face and top take forever to grow but I guess that is because a groomer cut Gracie's top when I had specifically asked her not to! Then we had to start the growing process all over again. Anyway, the dog you pictured does have the most lovely thick fur.......if only! If only my baby had such a lovely thick coat. I feed her the best food available and also give her a top grade supplement but it is what it is. As stated above genetics has a lot to do with it. I just about drool every time I see the avatar of that beautiful little Yorkie. |
