What is the best way/angel to trim eye hairs? I can not stand it when the hair is in my babies eyes, but I can not figure out what angel to cut the eye hairs (in the corner of the eye) to make it look best. Sometime when I do it it turns out looking choppy and unprofessional. Please help ! So how do you all do it and should I be using scissors or clippers when I do it? thanks for any input. |
I am not a groomer but I have been grooming between groomings for a while. I use a small pair of round tipped scissors and trim the hair off the top of her nose and then at an angle at the inner corner of her eyes. There was some videos by someone who grooms her own dog with clippers that are quite informative. They used to be a sticky, don't know where they are now. I'll have to look. They were in this section though. She said to hold the chin hair with one hand when trying to do the face. It gives you complete control over the head movement so they won't throw their head around while you are trying to trim around the eyes and nose. I have found it works very well. Gracie used to give me fits when I was trying to do her face until I learned to get a good hold of the chin fur first. |
The videos are still here as a sticky. I just trim the top of her nose to where the corner of her eyes are. Just about where the break in the nose is. The rest I let grow out for her top knot. It's so nice when you can see their beautiful eyes. |
I saw those videos after I posted. Thank you. |
