Gasp! I gave Jed a haircut! Well...a couple of weeks ago I "custom cut" his hair with sizzers and it was pretty good. We have been getting used to the clippers though sloooowwwlllyy. Anyway, this morning Jed was doing really great with the grooming so I decided to get the clippers out. Tried them with the shortest guide (don't know the #, can't find it on there) and it didn't cut much off. So, I took the guide off and started trimming away with just the clippers in the extended position. YIKES! :eek: To late now. I did the best I could but he looks so sad! :2omg: Of course going from his black puppy hair to now mostly all silver is drastic! DH is gonna kill me when he gets home!!! :eyebrow2: I text him a picture and he called back and said "He's BALD! what did you do?" :shocked7q But he was seeing the grey and thinking it was skin. Still.....poor baby. |
Yikes! make sure you bundle him up with a sweater, it'll be extra cold without the fur. No worries, it'll grow back quicker than you think :D And I'm sure we've all been there, got a little zealous with the clippers and the pups wind up looking a little silly for a while :) |
LOL, I couldn't help but chuckle a little...been there, done that. Keep in mind, it will grow back. Think of the up side, you won't have to trim him for awhile.:D Come'on now....you simply must share a picture! ;) |
I tried and tried to take a picture but he was so wired after I set him on the floor, he was a bullet running from one end of the house to the other! Now he is in his crate sleeping. Every once and awhile he will lift his head and give me a glare. Poor baby. I will learn this. Really I will. |
AHAHAHAAA, running like a bullet....CRACKED me up! I just bet he was, hehehe. Ok, be sure to get one when he settle down. I would love to see his cut...I just know he looks so sweet. I love the shaved back look. I will shave Zhoie down...as soon as it gets warmer. |
I guess it's just so different because we went from...BLACK to SILVER rather quickly. :eek: |
He just came out and is shivering! I put his sweat shirt on him and he is in my lap wrapped in a blankie now. Poor baby! I feel so bad. |
Samething happend to me when I shaved Zhoie down, she was much lighter, is was a shock. I did hers last early May and that was still to soon because she got way to cold. She's a coldy butt anyways. She loves being snuggly in her shirts. Poor little fella, just keep his shirts on and sleep in them too and he will adjust. He just feels so NAKED...LOL You sure did made me smile today. Thanks |

I'm sorry, it's just I recall being in your same state of mind just last year, when I skinned Zhoie the first time. So now, how did DH handle it when he saw him? ;) |
You don't need to be sorry for anything. I realize I'm not the only one that has gone thru this, I just feel so bad. DH came home, looked at Jed....and started laughing! DH, DD and DS...laughing all night! They started calling him Simba and singing the song from The Lion King. Roarrr I feel so bad. I keep saying that. Poor little guy, he don't even know what is going on. DH said, "Look at him. You do this to him and he still follows you around looking at you with that love in his eyes." Ahhhhh How long will it be before he has some hair? Poor baby! |

LMBO!!!! it depends on how fast your yorkies hair grows..my tulips hair grows SO SLOWLY....UGH....she's two..we've never cut the bottom and it's not even to the floor yet..:rolleyes: Daizy's hair grows alot faster!!! WE NEED PICS!!! You can't post a thread like this and then NOT SHARE!!:p |

I can't even imagine trying to groom Gracey. She is 4 1/2 months and still goes crazy when you try to just brush her or put any of her dresses on. She bites and literally goes bazeeerrrrkkkkk. I don't know how a groomer is going to be able to work with her and she is going to need it soon. I have tried brushing her while giving her a treat and saying "Pretty Gracey", but as soon as the treat is gone, Crazy Gracey returns. Any suggestions? I do this routine every day to try to get her used to being brushed. |

Ok this is cheating..but here's the Jed picture but he has his sweater on....:rolleyes: Attachment 339800 I know that's not what everyone wanted but it's a start to admitting my failure. :( When he has the shirt off though he runs from the camera! Maybe he does know what is going on! :p I trimmed his front legs some since then though. And he is showing more black in the picture on his back than what it really looks like. Gray. He is such a skinny butt! :) |

I have done this to my son, actually, and the DH was NOT pleased. Just wanted to trim him up a bit when he was about 4. Got out the DH's shaver and put a guide on, size 7. Well, it didn't take much off so I grabbed the 6 and that didn't take much off, so I grabbed the 2 since my son was getting wiggly and sick of me. Oops! Big difference between a 6 and a 2! Needless to say, he looked like he just joined the army. But! It did grow back . . . eventually.:eek: |
He was pretty hairy for 3 1/2 months. DS & DD both said that I did the same thing to them too! :D I was just wanting him to not look so "fuzzy" I guess, but not bald! :p Now I wish his fuzzy look was back! :rolleyes: |
Oh, I don't think he looks bad at all. Really pretty coat to be so young. **Now get us one with the sweater off! LOL:D |
